Description
Young, highly professional and accomplished form a category reserved for only the most dedicated and talented of jazz guitarists. Jordan Klemons is a gem of the group. His deeply grounded sound flows freely with his dynamic originality, showcasing in a variety of genres: jazz groups, americana bands, rock bands, and even a 10-piece afro-beat orchestra. His performances fill many rooms in his hometown Charlotte, such notable venues as The Carolina Theatre in Durham, NC and The Variety Playhouse in Atlanta, GA, and has resonated to thousands of ears at both Bonnaroo and The Joshua Tree Music Festival.
Klemons recently chose to break from the rigorous national touring schedule that he has held for the last few years and is refocusing his energy onto local and regional jazz performances. Because Klemons plays with many talented, professional musicians in Charlotte, he is comfortable tailoring his playing as well as the size and instrumentation of his group to perfectly suit your needs. Performing as a solo jazz guitarist, guitar/bass duo, guitar/bass/drum trio, or bringing in a horn to punch up the sound to a quartet, Klemons can create any atmosphere to match the energy that you want your patrons to enjoy.
Klemons has studied jazz guitar with some of the best, including Dave Stryker (Tony Bennett, Stanley Turrentine, Jack McDuff) and Scott Sawyer (Nneena Freelon, Charlie Byrd, Go There) and the influences resonate through his work. While he has studied the traditional jazz guitarists extensively, Klemons infuses his unique interpretation to each piece he performs.
Klemons' resume shows years of performing experience and a dual degree in Music and Economics from one of the finest universities in the U.S., UNC at Chapel Hill. You can expect that he will bring passion, intensive knowledge and experience to his music, as well as a sense of professionalism and respect for the business side of the field.
