StraightUP Jazz Quintet for your next event Jazz Band from San Diego, CA

StraightUP is a San Diego based jazz group that can exceed your musical entertainment needs by structuring our instrumentation, vocals, tune selection and theme based on your preferences. We can also downsize the group to a trio for space or budgetary concerns if needed. There is no agent to deal with, we represent ourselves. StraightUP has a combined performance experience of over 50 years. Our members include guitar, bass, drums, sax, trumpet. An excellent female jazz vocalist is also available. You can be guaranteed dependability, professional appearance, consistent communication, and a great selection of songs. We perform at private parties, corporate events, retirement homes, and local bars and restaurants across San Diego. Most of us have also performed in other cities such as Baltimore, New York, and Philadelphia. Our styles of music depends on your preferences. Or you can leave it to us to select based on your event. Examples include standards in the genres of swing, jazz blues, be-bop, Latin, funk, and ballads. While we love the music, we do not perform rock and roll. If requested, we will send you a set list in advance. Typically there is a break after every hour for 10 to 15 minutes unless you prefer another arrangement. We also provide by request, certain MC duties to liven and/or guide your event throughout its' duration. Some standard requirements: We would like access to the room we will be performing in at least 90 minutes before show time. Ideally we do like to see the room before the event. We require a small deposit of 10%, no penalty if you cancel at least 14 days before the event, and do require balance of payment at the conclusion of the performance.
