At the request of many our clients, we have written for you the following article…

THE SEVEN QUESTIONS TO ASK ANY STAGE HYPNOTIST BEFORE CONSIDERING THEM FOR YOUR EVENT

Before you hire any hypnotist or entertainer for your event, ask these questions. Their answers determine the level of professionalism. The reputable performer will appreciate your inquiry, and you will be more relaxed knowing you are securing the services of a professional.

1.) IS YOUR HYPNOTIST GOING TO PROVIDE A SHOW WITH APPROPRIATE CONTENT?

The last thing you want to ever do is hire a performer who will offend your guests. You want a performer who understands your event’s goals and needs and will work with you to achieve them.

There are a number of stage hypnotists out there who insist on doing shows with obscene language, suggestive material, or drug references.

Beware of any stage entertainer who also offers an “R-Rated”, “Hypnosis Gone Wild”, or worse, an “X-Rated” show. This style of performer may not take his career seriously and at worst will produce a show that may offend your guests.

Jason Linett understands that his show must meet your needs, so he ALWAYS provides a show which is clean and appropriate when it comes to the choice of hypnotic skits. This personal choice has allowed him to work for high schools, colleges, corporations, and churches.

2.) IS YOUR PERFORMER A FULL-TIME PROFESSIONAL STAGE HYPNOTIST?

There are many amateur performers who do this style of show as a hobby or a side venture. Don’t be fooled just by the inexperienced performer who pads their promotional materials with the title of “professional.” Ask your potential entertainer if they are a FULL-TIME stage hypnotist.

Very often you will hear that they’re also a DJ, a magician, a school teacher, or some other unrelated field. The more titles they hold, the less likely they’ve mastered any one of their crafts.

There are also a number of hypnotherapists who come out of their offices to make some extra cash doing shows or parties on a part-time basis.

Jason Linett is a full-time comedy stage hypnotist who will provide you with a professional, audience-tested show.

Hire a full-time entertainer, otherwise you may be paying an amateur to “practice” in front of your audience, or will show up at your event fatigued by the stress of their "day job".

3.) CAN YOU VERIFY THE HYPNOTIST IS INSURED FOR THE STAGE?

The professional hypnotist will be insured with a liability policy. Request a copy to confirm the policy is not expired. The amateur will not typically make the investment to protect themselves, you, or your audience. Just as worse, they make not even know where the policy is in case they need to use it.

Jason Linett carries $3,000,000 of insurance liability coverage. While he has never had any accidents on stage, you and your audience will rest easily knowing everything is under control.

To perform without stage insurance is dangerous, irresponsible, and is the equivalent to sitting on a ticking time bomb.

4.) HAS YOUR HYPNOTIST BEEN PROFESSIONALLY TRAINED?

A stage hypnotist should have received professional training and be a member of a hypnosis organization such as the National Guild of Hypnotists. A professional is committed to continued education and can be trusted to present a safe, flawless show.

Jason Linett is certified with The National Guild of Hypnotists, the leading national organization which provides professional training for hypnotists. He is an active member in good standing, and any other performer should be able to provide you with a copy of their up-to-date annual certificate.

Hypnosis is only safe if your hypnotist understands his craft. Accept no substitutes.

5.) IS YOUR HYPNOTIST AN EXPERIENCED PERFORMER?

Jason Linett is one of the very few stage hypnotists who is an active member of Actors’ Equity Association, the labor union of professional actors and stage managers.

This is a business of “stage hypnosis”. You want a performer who understands the concepts hypnosis as well as being on stage. The two must work hand-in-hand.

This experience guarantees you receive a flexible performer who will be able to handle any issue that arises.

This is part of Jason Linett's guarantee that not only will you receive an excellent performance, but you also get a complete show where all the technical elements (staging, sound, etc.) are handled efficiently and professionally.

6.) DOES YOUR HYPNOTIST HAVE A PROVEN TRACK RECORD WITH TESTIMONIALS, MEDIA COVERAGE, AND REFERENCES?

When considering your hypnotist, you must look for proof. If you’re dealing with an amateur, they may have very little, if anything, when it comes to proof.

Testimonials are proof that your performer has worked with audiences similar to yours. Make sure their quoted statements are from real clients, and not the performer’s own statements disguised as testimonials. The amateur can only quote himself. If they don’t have references, you might as well assume that your event may be the first that they’re working.

The professional hypnotist will be able to share with you media coverage from past events and accomplishments. These will provide a great glimpse into the personal character of your hypnotist, plus further proof that this is what they do for a living.

Obviously, if they have little or no track record, you can be assured you are receiving a show that is not tested and an entertainer whose quality and entertainment value will be low or worse, a miserable failure.

A bad hypnosis show will leave your audience bored, unsatisfied, and eventually walking out of the show, and that can bring your whole event down! This is certainly not the event upon which memories are made.

Jason Linett is frequently published in newspapers and makes regular TV appearances. Contact us today for some samples.

7.) DOES YOUR HYPNOTIST HAVE A DEMO VIDEO DVD?

Your online GigMasters quote is only the first step. Contacting your performer person-to-person is the next.

Your performer should be willing to mail you a complete package with information about their show, as well as a demo video DVD. Be sure you are receiving a physical package in the mail.

The professional entertainer will understand the importance of your decision and will not ask you to only view a tiny, online video.

The video should include media appearances, a variety of performance venues to show their flexibility, and video testimonials of satisfied clients.

Jason Linett understands that your time is valuable, so request a quote, or pick up the phone and call Jason Linett TODAY to receive a demo video DVD, rushed to you by priority mail.

ANSWERS DETERMINE THE LEVEL OF PROFESSIONALISM

Answering these seven questions will help you plan an event that is appropriate, safe, and fun.

You will be more relaxed the day of the program and the months leading up to the program knowing you are hiring a professional stage hypnotist your audience will enjoy!

If you find the Stage Hypnotist is deficient in any of these areas, it is a sure sign they may not be a full-time professional, and there may be cause for concern.

Good luck on the planning process! Jason Linett would love to help you achieve your event’s goals.

We’re sure it will be a wonderful event, and if the hypnotist is a professional and has answered the above seven important questions, you will have a great, safe, memorable show and few worries!

Feedback

  • I couldn't have asked more from Jason. He was an excellent performer. Everyone had a great time watching and participating in his show. The show was at a bar and he did a great job of adapting to the environment and keeping everyone engaged. Furthermore he was beyond easy to work with. He did an excellent job of setting up for the show and clean up after - the transition was smooth and peaceful for the guests. I would highly reccomend him to anyone looking for a hypnotist that puts everyone at ease! Thanks Jason for everything! -- Laura G, Washington, DC, 9/19/2009
