Spiral-Circus Artist

Kissed by stardust from the rings of Saturn, Vivian became Spiral and developed an uncommon affinity and passion for circles and revolutionary motion. Thereby inspired to create a unique, mesmerizing style of dancing with hoops, she became known as a pioneer of contemporary hoop dance.

Part whirling dervish, acrobat, modern dancer, object manipulator, yogi and ninja, Spiral has been on the cutting edge of this emerging movement practice for almost a decade, transforming a child's toy and fitness tool into an art form.

The hoop led her all over the world, where she was inspired to explore other props and disciplines including: contact sphere dance, fire dance, acrobatics, flow wand, living statue, aerial hoop and aerial fabric. All these skills are now part of her performance repertoire.

Emanating an electric presence for groups of 20 or 20,000, Spiral has wowed audiences from the catwalk in Hong Kong, to galleries in New York, to nightclubs in Vienna. She has performed as a guest artist with Lucent Dossier Vaudeville Cirque, Nimble Arts, Cirque Voila, Omimeo Mime Theatre, the Vau de Vire Society and The Yard Dogs Road Show. Spiral also performs sphere manipulation, fire arts, aerial fabric and lyra.

In addition to her talent as a performer, Spiral recently produced and released 'Hoop Technique', an instructional and inspirational DVD in the art of hoop dance.
