1. How Is My GigMasters Rating Calculated?
We factor in the number of bookings and total dollars which you've earned during your most recent six months on GigMasters, and the average scores of your client feedback. You can see exactly how your rating was calculated in your Control Panel by clicking on your star rating.
^ Back to Top2. I notice that my rating changes once in a while. Why?
Your rating may fluctuate from time to time. This is because your rating is based on how your overall point total compares to other GigMasters performers/groups, and your total bookings and total booking dollars earned during the most recent six months are constantly changing as well.
^ Back to Top3. Does GigMasters let clients know that ratings are not based on talent?
Yes, we inform all GigMasters clients that your rating is based on the number of bookings and dollars you've earned in the most recent six months and your client feedback scores.
^ Back to Top4. Where can I see how my ratings compare to other performers ratings?
The Search Results Analyzer shows your placement in search results based on your Primary Category, Location, and GigMasters rating. You will also see a breakdown of the points you, and performers like you, have earned and how they are calculated toward your overall rating. These results are calculated on a nightly basis.
^ Back to Top5. Does the GigMasters rating scoring system ever change?
Yes, our rating system changes from time to time - for example, in the fall of 2005 we began placing more emphasis on your GigMasters client feedback. In December 2007 we modified our rating system so that audio/video samples were no longer factored into your rating score.
^ Back to Top6. How do I get one of those icons which indicate how many events I have booked with GigMasters on my Press Kit?
Once you've been booked for your 10th gig on GigMasters, the icon will be added to your Press Kit. The icon will change when you reach your 25th, 50th, 100th, 200th, 250th, and 500th bookings.
^ Back to Top7. I see that the rating includes only the most recent 6 months of booking dollars. What is the starting date for that?
You get credit for six months from the date of the event. If you book the event early, the booking dollars will count toward your rating for longer than 6 months. If you confirm the booking after the event date, the booking dollars will count for less than 6 months.
^ Back to Top8. I have been assigned a 'New Member' status on my GigMasters Press Kit. How long will I be considered a new Member?
You're classified as a 'New Member' for the first 90 days of your initial Membership period. As such, your true GigMasters rating will not be displayed on your GigMasters Press Kit. You'll have a "New Member" icon displayed on your Gigmasters Press Kit. However, if you would like to have your true rating displayed on your GigMasters Press Kit, you can opt-out of the 'New Member' icon display at any time during your first 90 days of Membership. You can opt-out in your GigMasters Control Panel.
^ Back to Top9. If I let my Membership expire, and then renew the same Membership at a later date, will I be considered a 'New Member'?
No. You are only classified as a 'New Member' for the first 90 days of your GigMasters Membership time period.
^ Back to Top10. If I let my Membership expire, and then renew the same Membership at a later date, can I keep my previous rating?
Your rating will be recalculated. So it may or may not be the same as it was when you let your Membership expire.
