Jane Kauffman Brye Harpist from Lancaster, PA

Jane Kauffman Brye is currently the Principal Harpist with the Reading, PA, Symphony Orchestra, past Principal Harpist with the Harrisbug and Lancaster Symphonies and has appeared as soloist with the Reading, Lancaster, and Harrisburg, PA, Symphonies. She has performed classical music for many weddings and special events as a soloist as well as with her flute and harp duo, Gliss and Air. She also performs in a flute, harp, and cello trio, as well as a cello and harp duo. Jane is a classically trained musician and plays on a Lyon and Healy concert grand Salzedo harp. A concert harp is large enough that the sound carries very well without electrical amplification, even outdoors. She also plays the harp using the Salzedo method which means that she plays with a full, rich, orchestral sound. She studied with Molly Hahn of Wayne, Pa. and also studied for seven summers at the Salzedo Harp Colony in Camden, Maine with Alice Chalifoux and Jeanne Chalifoux and is a graduate of Elizabethtown College. Jane also performs in a harp duo with her sister, Rebecca Kauffman.
