Nadia Pessoa is a professional harpist with more than 20 years of experience providing elegant music for weddings, receptions, and private events. Currently the harpist with the US Army Band "Pershing's Own," she is an active member of the musical community in Washington DC, frequently performing for dignitaries and heads of state.

She has performed throughout the US, Canada, Europe, and Brazil, and has entertained audiences at distinguished venues including Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, the Biltmore Hotel in Miami, the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Isand, MI, the Kennedy Center, the US Capitol, the State Department, and the White House.

Known for her distinctive and commanding sound, Ms. Pessoa is the recipient of awards from the National Society of Arts and Letters, the American Harp Society, the Fort Collins Symphony, and Downbeat Magazine. She holds degrees in Harp Performance from Indiana University and the University of Michigan, where she studied with Distinguished Professor Susann McDonald and Lynne Aspnes, respectively. Prior to moving to D.C., she was on the faculty of Louisiana State University and served as interim principal harp in the Louisiana Philharmonic during the '06 season.

Ms. Pessoa frequently plays for weddings and other events in Virginia, Maryland, Washington D.C., Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Delaware.
