DESCRIPTION:
Peggy Carter is a singer and multi-instrumentalist specializing in playing Beautiful Music For Special Occasions on the Hammer Dulcimer. Since 1990 she achieved the title, Texas State Hammer Dulcimer Champion and Southern Regional Hammer Dulcimer Champion and has been included in the performance roster of "Young Audiences Of Houston" and "Texas Commission For The Arts." She has performed for schools, churches, community events, fairs and festivals across the US and abroad and has produced 6 CDs and authored 11 books of lessons and arrangements for dulcimer and for singers which have been published by four publishers. She has been a presenter at Music Teacher Conventions in Texas and Florida as well as teaching at the Secondary and Community College level. Peggy's musical styles include Celtic music, Victorian music, Christian, Gospel and Old-Time Fiddle Tunes. She is in demand for weddings, receptions, open houses, private parties, Senior Residences, Church socials and Worship music. In addition to her solo engagements Peggy brings in a variety of other musicians to form ensembles, both vocal and instrumental. She can be heard annually with the "Merrie Waits Of Windsor" at the "Dickens On The Strand" Victorian Christmas Festival in Galveston TX and has been heard for many years with the Old Time String band, "Texas Bound" at craft shows and fairs. She is available with a vocal quartet for Caroling at Christmas, or other events.
