Kathleen Mayes - Classical Guitarist out of Collingswood, NJ.

Ms. Mayes is a well-known South Jersey performer, Rowan University faculty member, and teacher of Classical Guitar and Renaissance Lute. She specializes in creating the perfect background atmosphere for any occasion using a variety of styles on the nylon-string classical guitar – Latin, New-Age, Spanish, Classical, and more. For an extra special ambiance, she can provide music from the Renaissance on the instrument it was written for – the Lute.

She holds degrees from Rowan University and Drexel University. She studied classical guitar with well-known Segovia disciple Larry Snitzler of George Mason University and Julian Gray of Peabody Conservatory.

Ms. Mayes has also played with many well-known Guitar and Renaissance ensembles during her 30 year career. She performs regularly as Duo partner with her husband, Joseph Mayes, using Renaissance instruments, 19th Century Guitars, and modern Classical Guitars. She has recorded 3 CD's with him: "The Schoole of Musicke", "Romance", and "Sketches for 2".
