DESCRIPTION:
Composer and Guitarist Jason Sagebiel is an active performer in the New York City area, and resides in Forest Hills, New York. He holds a Master's Degree in Music from the Aaron Copland School of Music, and a Bachelor's Degree from Loyola New Orleans.
Jason has performed at such venues as Merkin Hall, the Symphony Space, and Carnegie Hall. He has given several world premiers and has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician in numerous engagements. Most recently, Jason gave the preview concert of the Princeton Festival (in association with Princeton University and the Princeton Public Library) in a solo guitar recital of Spanish music, and served as the musical director for the new play Caravaggio Chiaroscuro at La Mama Experimental Theater Club.
Jason also frequently performs many private engagements as a soloist, and in small chamber groups including duos of guitar and violin; guitar and flute; guitar and steel drum; and guitar and voice.
An in-demand performer and instructor, Jason is on the faculty of the Great Neck Arts Center for the Performing and Visual Arts - a Kennedy Center Affiliate, and teaches classical guitar at Queens College through the BAMM program. Jason is currently Director of the Queens Guitar Society.
