DESCRIPTION:
The Heritage Minstrels are a unique trio of performers. Our show is a combination of historical story telling,singing and tunes played in the style of the times we are portraying- Early American,Pioneer or Civil War. We look and sound as though we just stepped out of a page in a history book. We play just about anywere 3 people can stand beside on another. The instruments we play are a fiddle, irish whistle, lapdulcimer wash board, bodram and other wooden percusion instruments. We also have a period correct camp we can set up and perform in representing Revolutionary Times thru The Civil War. We play American folk music that came to this country from Ireland, England and Scotland and Minstrel Music that was written in this country in the 1800's. Over the last 11 years we have played a variety of event-Riverboat rides, First Nights, Heritage Festivels,School Days,Civil war Reenactment,Rendevozes, Victorian Christmas, House tours Museums,Heritage societies, picnics and weddings just to name a few.
