Musician Samantha Moffatt has been entertaining audiences and playing for receptions and weddings for over 20 years. This versatile musician has received Classical training, she also has spent years doing field research, and her repertoire draws from traditional and world music, as well as from recent singer-songwriter in both French and English, Brazilean jazz, and Paris musette. She is a virtuoso of the hammered dulcimer, a multi-stringed instrument which is at home both on the concert stage as its is in the banquet hall, not to mention under the stars, on the terrace! An accordeon player as well, she appears solo or in 4 different ensembles which feature:fiddle, violin, guitar, upright bass, mandolin,harp,or Irish flute. She has produced 3 CDs, and was a twice-invited guest on "A Prairie Home" show.

• The music created by Samantha Moffatt and her fellow musicians transformed the event. Sam is smart, talented, knowledgeable about music and well connected to other excellent instrumentalists. She was most attentive to my clients' preferences in advance of the date and throughout the evening. It was unfortunate, however, that her lack of attention to travel logistics meant that she and the other musicians arrived over an hour after the scheduled start time. This dampened the mood of the cocktail hour and threatened to undermine my credibility as a planner.
