I have been playing guitar and singing since my teenage years. I appear regularly at area open mic nights, including Old Songs, Hudson River Coffee House, and Professor Java's. I have also performed gigs at Tierra Roasters and the Israel Cafe in Albany, the Moon and River Cafe in Schenectady, Arlington House in West Sand Lake, and The William K. Sanford Colonie Town Library. I have entertained veterans and staff at the Stratton VA Medical Center where I am employed as a Doctor of Optometry. I have played for the Congregation Ohav Shalom Seder for the Disabled and the annual awards dinner for the Aspire organization for young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). I have presented purely instrumental classical and jazz selections in small recitals as a member of the former Capital District Guitar Performance Group. My daughter Melanie, a poet who has ASD, accompanies me to my musical programs at area senior citizens centers. I have studied with world-class musicians at the National Guitar Workshop in New Milford, Conn. For 15 years, I was a tenor and regular guitarist with the Ne'imah Jewish Community Chorus. In addition, I have been a professional High Holiday Cantor at area synagogues.
I specialize in classic folk and blues. I also play contemporary popular hits, instrumental jazz, classical pieces, Broadway show tunes, and Israeli folk music. Demo CDs are available.
