A recent graduate of Berklee College of Music, Lindsay Straw is a guitarist, Irish bouzouki player and vocalist who specializes in traditional Irish, Scottish, and contemporary folk music, plus the standard classical wedding repertoire. She's performed for countless weddings, parties, and corporate events, and at a variety of renowned folk music venues and house concerts throughout New England. She performs solo, with her traditional Irish band, The Ivy Leaf, and with other Boston-area Irish musicians.

Lindsay loves providing music for weddings, parties, and other events, and she'll travel anywhere in New England to play for you. She takes requests and will work with you to design the perfect unique, folky acoustic soundtrack for your big day. Couples can hire her to play solo (with or without vocals), and for those who love Irish music, in a duo with a fiddler or with her Irish band, The Ivy Leaf.

Reviews:

“Straw's voice on “Raglan Road” and O'Shea's on “The Night Visiting Song” are both lovely. Straw, in particular, transforms a song often associated with Luke Kelly into something her own, striking a nice balance with the numerous instrumental tracks.”

"After we initially viewed Lindsay's profile on Wedding Wire, and then saw her perform on her own website, Lindsay was tops on the list for who we wanted to perform during our wedding ceremony. Working with Lindsay in preparation for our wedding was wonderful; she was always so pleasant and easy to work with. When we found out our ceremony music was going to be limited by our church for our Catholic Mass, Lindsay was eager to find selections that we loved, and worked into our constraints. She couldn't have been any better! When the wedding was over we got multiple compliments on her performance. I couldn't wait to get our wedding video back, so I could see the parts of her performing that I missed before I entered the church. The only thing I would need to say is book her early; we were disappointed as we would had loved to play during our cocktail hour as well, and she was already booked for a wedding during the evening of our wedding day. We were very lucky to have her!!"

"Lindsay was a joy to work with. Very professional right from the start, but she also had a caring attitude. She wanted to help make the wedding even more special for us. She learned 2 new songs (she now does a great rendition of The Wedding Song by Peter, Paul & Mary) one of which was a rock song- not her genre- Beginnings by Chicago, which we used for our recessional. She arranged it perfectly! Lindsay then provided music during cocktail hour. Susan and I look forward to seeing Lindsay perform with her group soon as well. If you're looking for a musician that can put your ceremony " over the top" - Lindsay Straw is the one!"
