Brides rank entertainment 9th in importance compared to other wedding services prior to their wedding. However, after the fact, 72% of brides say they should have spent more time choosing their wedding reception DJ. Not only is selecting the right DJ for your wedding one of the most important decisions you make it is unfortunately also one of the most difficult. There are two reasons for this: 1. DJING IS AN ABSTRCT ART When you select a photographer you can see their photos from other weddings. When you select a dress you can try it on. When you select flowers you can view floral arrangements. However DJing is not so easy to judge. Unless your DJ has video of him or herself, you have only your DJ's description of them self to trust! 2. ANYONE CAN CALL THEMSELF A DJ: In the past 15 years the art of DJing has taken the world by storm to the point where DJ's win Grammy Awards, DJ's perform to sold out stadiums, and there are even DJ video games. That being said, there is still no license or degree required per se to become a DJ. The guy next to me at a wedding show with his iPod and home stereo system can call himself a DJ just like me. I am a 32 year old professional turntableist/disk jockey/perfectionist that has recently relocated to costal North Carolina. I specialize in weddings, corporate events and private functions. In addition, I also have years of experience playing House and Hip-Hop to packed night clubs in multiple states. I feel there is no such thing as a one size fits all DJ. In the best interest of my potential client and myself, I highly encourage a consult prior to securing my services. It is essential that I fully understand your requirements so that I can surpass your expectations. Equipment doesn't make the DJ. With that being said would you hire a Photographer who uses a camera purchased off the rack at Best Buy? I will arrive at your event in proper attire and will not perform on inexpensive and cheap sounding control surfaces, Virtual DJ software or iTunes. A list of the equipment I currently use is posted below. Please note all music is purchased legally through professional DJ record pools. In addition I have posted numerous photos of my equipment for your inspection. (For those who are unfamiliar with the art of Djing, there are typically three setups that are deemed professional. Technics 1200s, Pioneer CDJ-1000s and Pioneer CDJ-2000s. Everything else is considered a toy among respected professionals) My preferences are as follows: Turntables: 2 custom white Technics 1200 M3Ds with blue LEDs from Nick Tyler Customs Mixer: Rane Sixty-Two Battle Mixer. Record Pools/Song Catalog: 70,000+ Songs on hard drive, Video DJ set available for Hip Hop and Top 40 Club Killers record pool (almost any song imaginable can be obtained on the fly from these two record pools as long as wifi is available) Misc: Pioneer HDJ-2000 headphones Apple MacBook Pro Stanton Uberstand Shure M-447 Needles, stylus and cartridges Serato control Vinyl Serato Scratch Live JBL PRX Speakers Lighting and Uplighting available upon request.
