Jim Smith WON the ULTIMATE ELVIS TRIBUTE ARTIST CONTEST PRELIMINARY ROUND held in Virginia Beach, Virginia on June 24 2007 which earned him the right to be one of 24 in the world competing for the title in Memphis. In the Preliminary round at Va. Beach Jim competed against 13 tribute artist, 3 from Virginia,4 from North Carolina, 1 from Florida, Texas, Canada, Georiga, Delaware and South Carolina. You know you will be getting TOP Quality entertainment when choosing Jim Smith. His is An Elvis Show like no other. Jim will take you from the 50's through the 60's and into the 70's with or without the Memories Band. Jim's ability to draw the crowd to him is accomplished in two ways. His commanding stage presence and powerful voice. People many times have told Jim I wasn't sure if that was you really singing...until you stopped. He also loves to have fun with his audiences, taking request, giving out scarfs, idle conversation. It's all part of providing the best entertainment for the fans. Jim has sung with the Grammy Nominated Stamps Quartet(Elvis's male backup group in the 70's) and has had the honor of singing The National Anthem. Some of Jim's other achievements include, Third place in 2004 competition at the Viva Elvis Festival in Va Beach and Third in 2005 in the Non-Professional Division at Dewey Beach Delaware as part of the Images of The King Contest. Jim has performed from Florida to New Jersey so he is no stranger to traveling. The show can be performed with Track Music, or with the Memories Band. What do you do when your Elvis crazed brother turns forty? You book Jim Smith’s Memories from Memphis! I was a bit anxious about the idea of having to find a “good” Elvis for my brother’s surprise party. But from the very first email my worries were put to rest by Jim’s professional and friendly manner. He was in constant communication with me and was accommodating to all my wishes. At the party Jim was very interactive with the guests (from grandparents to toddlers) but especially so with my brother Chuck. Everyone was impressed by just how much Jim sounded and moved like Elvis. Jim wasn’t just “good”…he was excellent.

Working with Jim Smith as Elvis was nothing put a pleasure! He was perfectly accomodating to any of our requests and entertained our guests of all ages with both his music and his charm. Jim sang beautifully and mingled with our friends and family, making everyone feel as though Elvis was just another guest at our daughter's wedding party. I would recomend Jim without question for any event being planned where you need dependable, talented, and professional entertainment.
