When you hire Music Source you get me, the owner - disc jockey - emcee, Jonathan Michael Roth, and my assistant. I don't send someone else or some other service. Music Source was established in 1982 so we are experienced at creating a fun atmosphere with lights and music and personal interaction! Music Source uses a professional mobile stereo console. No home stereo look or sound here. We use one dual Cortex Digital Music Controller, one dual Gemini CD player and one iPod. Two microphones (Peavey hardwired and a Shure wireless) both run through a Peavey reverb and delay effect unit and a dedicated microphone equalizer. One Pyle Pro mixing board and one Behringer equalizer. One BBE crossover and two 2,500 watt Peavey power amplifiers. Two Peavey SP3, three-way PA speakers and two Peavey SP118 subwoofers.

Two additional Peavey 2-way PA speakers on skirted tripods are available if necessary. Plus we carry a back-up amp, dual CD player, digital music controller & harddrive, microphone and mixer to every show.

Music Source has a very professional looking light show. A combination of automated and manually operated lights, ran by a lighting technician, makes our light show the best you have ever seen. A DJ can't dee-jay and run the light show too... and do them both well. This is why every Music Source show includes a lighting technician. We create a dance floor atmosphere through the use of 12 multicolored flood lights, 7 strobe lights, 6 police beacons, 4 lasers and 4 tetra lights, 1 fogger, 1 cyclone light and 1 rotopod light that is always in sync with the music.

Music is imporant and that is why we have over 25,000 songs, and we add over 200 brand new songs each and every month. We have everything from the 1940’s up to this week’s Top 40! We will have your crowds requests no matter what they are, or we’ll work your crowd to find their mix to get them dancing and keep them dancing.

Requests. Why don't most DJ's play them? Music Source will play your crowds requests for rock n’ roll, country, 50-60’s, top 40, disco, alternative, hip-hop and rap, retro 80’s, techno, big band and the like. After all, it’s your party!

Wedding Receptions ~ This is our specialty! Upon booking you will receive our exclusive four page Music Source Wedding Reception Planner and two page Information and Song Request Sheet.

The planner will allow you and your fiancee to plan out all the details of your reception in advance, with our years of professional experience as a guide. Here you will select all of the music for the formalities, including the 'first dance'.

The information sheet will provide us information on the two of you to share with the crowd, and the song request sheet will allow you to list your favorite dance songs, and give us an idea of your musical tastes... though we do ask for and play guests requests too, as we want everyone dancing all night long.

These items you return to me 3-4 weeks prior to your big day. This gives me a chance to review, find any special music that I may not already have in my DJ show, and formulate a list of questions. Then we meet to go over it in detail, for as long as it takes, covering everything including floor plan.

At your reception I will coordinate all the formalities with you, your caterer, your photographer, your cake people, staff at the reception hall, anyone working your reception. This makes for a smooth evening so you can enjoy your reception too!
