DJ LickA shot is a true artist in every sense of the word and it shows. In a phenomenal career spanning 20+ years, he's become one of the world's premier DJs.

"I didn't like to play music that I was told was hot. I made that decision for myself."

A native of New Jersey, LickA shot's career began there where he hones his skills performing at house parties and other local venues; quickly becoming a household name. This local popularity lead to jobs in nearby Philadelphia, where he ultimately became a radio personality on R&B station WDAS-FM. Being the true artist that he is, radio proved to be a stifling environment for LickA shot's creativity. He needed to be free to share the music that he knew true hip-hop fans wanted to hear.

He had come a long way indeed! Opening for DJ Premier proved to be a turning point in LickA shot's career. He went on to open for other acts as diverse as Mobb Deep, Cee-Lo, R. Kelly & Jay- Z and Diamond District. Known by his peers as "the DJ's favorite DJ" LickA shot's knowledge of musical genres has allowed him the opportunity to perform at world-renown events such as the Nike Events and ESPN X-Games and to perform for celebrities including Prince, Britney Spears and Michael Jordan. LickA shot's diverse talent appeals to backpackers, fashionistas and everyone in between. Having emerged as a prominent voice in hip-hop, LickA shot is a winner of the Justo Mix Tape Award for 'Best Blend Mix DJ' and was recognized by MSN as one of the most influential DJs/Producers in urban music.

In addition to impacting the world through his incomparable skills as a DJ, LickA shot is making his mark as a producer via his company, Flat Line Entertainment. Never one to be content "within the box" LickA shot is widely recognized as a tastemaker sought out by the media for his thoughts on music, fashion and trends. Currently based in the Washington, DC, area, LickA shot has served as a panelist on numerous community summits discussing hip-hop and culture in DC. In 2004, LickA shot was named one of 'DC's 50 Unsigned Talented DJs' by Love Heals, a leading foundation for AIDS education. Currently, he sits on the Board of Diesel's U-Music Competition.
