DESCRIPTION:
The Goldmembers have been "pumping up" the party crowds here in Central Florida for years, playing some of everyone's favorite songs, new and old and creating the perfect party atmosphere. The Goldmembers are the Creme del a Creme of Solid gold entertainment. They are a funky 4 piece Band that includes Bassist Lee Hill who has toured with Teddy Pendergrass & Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, West Coast Drummer Phil Reed formerly of the Lenny Wiiliams Band, Popular session pianist Isom Gerty, and vocalist Jan Crawford who has opened for James Brown, performed opposite the great Aretha Franklin, and has recorded with Reggae Superstar Sugar Minot. This exciting group performs The full spectrum of today's popular music from Funk,70's disco, R&B, blues, pop,and dozens of the Motown hits from yesterday. This very versatile group has close to 100 years combined musical experience with each member an accomplished musician in their own right. In addition to performing with the Goldmembers, Jan Crawford has been a popular, well loved jazz/blues singer in the area for more than 8 years and continues to draw great crowds in all her venues. In 2008, Jan is doing two exciting things. She will performing the critically acclaimed play "Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill" which portrays the legendary Billie Holiday in the last year of her life. This will be Jan's first acting performance. In addition to this exciting venture, Jan will also be dancing in the St. Augustine "Dancing with the Local Stars" benefit to raise money for the Donna Hicken Breast Cancer Foundation. Booked the Goldmembers for a very large Private Function (aprox 500 people)they were spectactular! very professional. We received a lot of compliments about the Goldmembers. They played a lot of crowd favorites and had the audience up dancing and singing. Overall it was a great experience and we will be booking them again.
