Thumpin', the Maximum Groove masters of Colorado!
Thumpin's musical repertoire emphasizes the groove, delivering high-energy, danceable favorites ranging from Motown to R&B, old-school funk and soul to modern dance pop. The group features soulful lead vocals, pristine harmonies and tight musicianship. The 11 seasoned musicians come from all over the country and bring together an impressive group of talents and influences.
Thumpin's band members include:
Bill Adamasky, guitars and vocals. Adamasky has an affinity for clean, scratchy rhythms and melodic soloing as well as power chords and balls-out rock-and-roll shredding.
Joy Jaeger, lead vocals, loops, samples and electronic percussion. Joy is the leading lady for Thumpin'. In addition to her musical performances, Joy is a performer and has appeared in numerous plays across the country including Sweeney Todd, Jesus Christ Superstar, Cabaret, BloodReign and On the Verge.
Jerry Hermosillo, lead Vocals. Jerry is the frontman of this 11-piece band and the perfect complement to our other two vocalists. Jerry is a Denver native and loves his Denver sports teams and watches all of them on his down time.
Nate Torres, drums. Torres is self-taught drummer who first performed at the age of 5. He formed a popular metal band, My Own Device, with friends and family in 2008 but favors funk and old school tunes from such artists as Earth, Wind and Fire, Tower of Power and Marvin Gaye.
Jackie Oxford, background vocals. Jackie teaches creative dance and ballet specializing in the little ones, ages 3-6. Jackie loves cooking, the great outdoors, and is a huge animal lover, especially her lab-pitt mix, Marley and 3 cats. She is also very proud to have been with her significant other, David for nearly 15 years!
Jeff Fournier, bass. Originally hails from the GTA up in Toronto, Canada. He started his musical journey at a young age playing mandolin and guitar at bluegrass festivals, a short detour through post-secondary accounting convinced him to change majors to music.
Dave Rajewski, trumpet. Dave moved to Denver from his hometown of Detroit in 2004 to pursue and later receive his MM in Trumpet Performance at the University of Colorado working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant to Terry Sawchuk (2006). He is currently pursuing his DMA in Jazz Studies at the University of Colorado under the mentorship of Brad Goode.
Mark Strivings, alto sax. Mark started playing professionally in 1976 and has never slowed down since. He has a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Jazz Performance from Northern Arizona University and has worked with the likes of such diverse artists as Bob Hope, Henry Mancini and blues legend Charles Musselwhite.
Eric Erhardt, tenor sax. Eric is originally from Philadelphia, PA is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music and the New England Conservatory. He has performed internationally as a multi-instumentalist in several touring productions, including Fosse, A Chorus Line, Grease, She Loves Me, Ragtime, and The Big Apple Circus.
Tim Ensner, Keyboards. A Denver native, Tim's been funkin' since 'back-in-the-day'. Early influences include Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Sly and The Family Stone, EWF, AWB, and Tower of Power. He began piano lessons at the age of 10, and in high school studied jazz improvisation with Neil Bridge at the Career Education Center in Denver. Continuing in college, he studied music theory at Metropolitan State College while pursuing a marketing degree. Tim enjoys many styles of music.
Dave Perlowski, Percussion. Dave had an official entry into the world of rhythm in 1957 when, at the age of 4, his uncle and New York jazz authority Bill Esposito, introduced him to a Gene Krupa recording of Sing, Sing, Sing. From that day nothing that would make rhythmic noise was off limits. By the time he was 10, Dave's formal music training began, and in 1971, when listening to Traffic's "Shootout At The Fantasy Factory," the conga tracks of Rebop Kwaku Baah spoke and the instrument has been the focus of Dave's attention since. He has admired and studied the styles of Tito Puente, Giovanni Hidalgo, Carlos Patato Valdez and anyone who skillfully makes conga drums, timbales, cowbells and bongos converse. Since 1995, Dave has been adding rhythm and texture to Denver area bands such as The Lost Canyon Band, The Denver Funk Mob, Broken Holmes and Coyote Poets of the Universe.
