A unique, fresh sound and a passion for spreading the positive message of Jesus Christ put Curbside on the edge of the typical. The music crosses boundaries and introduces a fresh new vibe to the Christian rock scene. But the message is far from crossing over. Unafraid to take a stand, Curbside challenges the audience with a refreshing rigor that is timely and firm. It's time to get serious... sort of. The music is deliberately directed mainstream. "A primary goal of the creative decision proess is to develop a sound that has the modern flavor of mainstream pop", frontman Harold explains. "What we want is a sound that that measures up, and has the positive message and influence of Jesus Christ. From the music side - If people put our songs in their playlists and kick out some of the negative music that is everywhere today, then we're already making a positive impact." To achieve the mainstream sound, the band recorded the CD in LA with producer Justin Gray. With help from Gray, the live show expertly combines live musicians with backing tracks, and the result is an impressive professional sound. Continuing on a great season starting in March 2010, already the band has shared the stage with great bands such as Hawk Nelson, solo artists such as Paul Colman, and toured in West Canada and the USA. After 6 months of Internet radio, Curbside has a growing fan base and the response is overwhelmingly positive. Plans are underway for an aggressive 2015 summer/fall tour, and Curbside is teaming up with several great bands from Nashville. Currently in the studio working on an EP for the Spring 2015 release, Curbside is pleased with the sound. Producer Justin Gray explains, "Think of Toby Mac meets Maroon 5, and maybe a touch of Bruno Mars. Then add in some guitars to juice it." There is a deliberate focus behind the band. Fifteen minutes into this show you are impressed with the quality and presentation – and you are confronted by the message – be authentic. The CD is an expression of the band's desire to challenge listeners in the Christian scene to be authentic – and what that means. Harold explains, "It is so easy to do all the right things out of habit, forgetting that doing all the right things does not necessarily make one right. Especially growing up in a Christian home and attending Sunday school for many years, we are conditioned to do certain things, not to do other things - and often times we continue do them simply out of custom. But one day when all that conditioning is stripped away what is left? Who am I really?" Confronted with that theme prompted a two year period of personal reflection, change, growth, and the result is the latest release "Shattered". "Sure it's about the music, that's the start", Harold explains. "Engage, Impact, Change. The music engages people. Then the message impacts people. God's word changes people." Walk in Your Commands, inspired by Psalm 119:32, "I will run in the path of your commands, for you have set my heart free", centers on the key phrase "Take it out of the churches and into the streets". "We want to share what Christ has done in our lives with others", Justin Kudding says. "It's easy to play in the Christian scene, our focus now is also out in the streets. So the new cd goes even more mainstream, we can do a free show in some community and engage. That's the goal." Shattered has a modern sound and also takes a serious tone. Harold explains, "It's a testimony of a significant point in my life, and describes that turning point for me. I wrote the song after reaching out to God at a difficult time, I mean really reaching out… I left it all there… nothing left... completely Shattered. God took me to the point where I experienced first hand the freedom that comes when we let go of 'us' and let God take control. It's a powerful song, and it is extremely personal. Again, that is why we do what we do. It's not about the business. It's not about the music. Those are just things we do. Who we are is quite different."

Review by John D.

ConventionReviewed on September 23, 2010From Great Falls, MT

Because of Visa restrictions they discovered that they could not come & be paid ... so they came to Great Falls, Montana for free. They deserved to be paid and we are looking for an opportunity to bring them back & pay them what they deserve. Their commitment to honor their agreement meant personal sacrifice. You will not be disappointed to bring this group to your event. John H. Duckworth, pastor First Baptist Church Great Falls, Montana
