The Red Hots

The Red Hots is a perfect choice for your wedding, Dance, company party, picnic, back yard party or other fun event. The band covers many current as well as old favorite artists. ***Bill Ortlieb Guitars and vocals was born and raised in upstate N.Y. The small town of Ilion was known as the 'musician' capitol of central N.Y. Inspired by the music and singing of his brother Jim, Bill knew early in life that music would be a big part of his life. Bill has played in bands since 8th grade, influenced by all the great guitarists since the Beatles. Bill moved to Chicago in the late 70's and took full advantage of the music scene. As luck was, he also played in a 3 pc rock/ blues group with his brother. Throughout his travels, he's been fortunate to perform with recording artists including Steppenwolf, Dovells, Bo Didley, Cactus, Percy Sledge and others. Now in Charlotte, he is excited to be part of the dynamic talents of "THE RED HOTS" !!! ***David Demperio, AKA Dr. D Percussion and Vocals Dr. D was also born Upstate in Syracuse, New York and grew up playing in cover bands in Binghamton, New York during his high school years. Doc began his musical exploration in grade school learning to play the Cello, then the drums, banging on cafateria tables with those big sticks! Then in highschool band percussion and several incarnations of garage bands. Guitars have always been in Doc's house. He cut his teeth on his daddy's 1940's Kalamazo and got his first electric guitar at age 10, a Danelectro! Doc is a Chiropractor by day and musician by night. He currently plays the drums with the Red Hots and sings. He is also the mandolin player for the bluegrass band called Fire Creek. Doc has been a song writer since the anxious high school days and continues to record his originas music in studio where the Red Hots rehearse. ***Liz Burns Bass Guitar and Vocals Liz Burns has been an accomplished visual artist/painter for many years now. You can see her work at Her love of music was apparent early on . She grew up in a musical family and has always been drawn to the bass and drums. Her musical influences include a wide variety of genres from jazz, funk, eclectic, electronic to blue grass. ***Phil "The Exterminator" Nixon on guitar and vocal. Phil is everybodys friend and has been a music lover since he was a kid. He discovered his musical talant late in life, picking up the guitar in his late 30's. He has performed with several Gaston County bands including Boarderline Band, Th Ozone Cruisers and Will Power. ***Tammy Worley is the band's lead vocalist adding her own sultry and sexy twist to the songs she sings. She has been performing locally with various bands for years now including The Boarderline Band, Sound Town, Ozone Cruisers and Will Power. She is active with her church music program and loves shag music as well as the music she sings with the Red Hots. Tammy ads a wonderful classy and professional edge to the Red Hots presentation. We are very fortunate to have her as our lead singer .
