Setting Suns is a New York Tri-State area quartet that provides a unique blend of music along the roots spectrum, incorporating an array of styles from outlaw country, bluesy-rock, country rock, alt-country to old-timey, reggae and regular old classic rock. Our set has been very much informed by the late Levon Helm's Midnight Ramble; warm, sometimes familiar, always friendly, always fun. Artists we cover include: Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Little Feat, Grateful Dead, Rolling Stones, JJ Cale, Kris Kristofferson, Wilco, David Allan Coe, Waylon, Tom Petty, Steve Earle and many more. Typically we play 3 hour sets with breaks happening either once at 90 minutes or in smaller breaks every hour. But we've got enough for 4-4 1/2 hours. To make this sound come to life, we have acoustic and electric guitar, copious amounts of slide, mandolin, percussions and recently added bass.
