Rick Barron and The Quavers Country Band from Cohasset, MA

Also facebook.com/Rick Barron-Singer, Songwriter, Entertainer.com. etc. I performed as a songwriter in the 70s with Alan Thomas @ Sanders Theater and he played with the Cannonball Adderly Quartet. I also played as a Solo performer at Kresgie Auditorium @ MIT, Boston College, Boston University, Brandeis, Channel 4 WBZTV, "Show Of Faith", cable TV in Brookline, Boston, Quincy, Newton, and in Nashville, on the Nashville Network. I was videotaped at Opryland Tn, on the Charlie Daniels TV show, performed several times at the world famous, Bluebird Cafe and other venues, The Broken Spoke Saloon, The Idle Hour, The Music Machine ( recorded songs with Red Volkaert, and James Murphy, (Nashville Hall of Famers) I played with the Ron Sweet Band in Nashville on Friday-Saturday nights with them and my drummer, Larry Schultz from the Quavers band. My band and I won numerous awards with my band The Quavers in Massachusetts from the M.C.M.A.A. for several years in a row. I opened and also headlined at Indian Ranch in Webster, Ma. Performed at the Wilson Trust County Fair and was booked by Pretty Pony Productions in Lebanon. TN. and negotiated a signed/written contract with Cameo/Price Records in Nashville as a song writer in Nashville, and jobs, to play on gambling casino on Missippi Riverboat, and be an artist on a National tour in Australia, New Zealand, etc. with guaranteed radio airplay for our record "One People, One Planet" by Rick Barron and The Quavers. I played with Sleepy LaBeef in his band for several years in New England and at Indian Ranch again, and worked for John Penny Enterprises in Waltham and fronted his band for jobs at The Adelphia Lounge in Dorchester, and Saccos Lounge with Jodie Messina(female country music artist winner at the Grammys numerous times) I negotiated our Sunday Nights, Open Mike night at the Brookline Tam O Shanter for a couple of years, where Robert Cray used to play and come up from Atlanta, Til Tuesday, Duke Robillard, Cadillac Ranch, Bonnie Rait, and even Bob Dylan and Richie Havens. In Jamaica Plain at The Midway Cafe (still going) and at Nally's in Quincy, Ma. I played with Billy Coover and Memphis Rockabilly Band, South Boston Band, Subject To Change. I played in a regular wedding band for 11 years named Fleet Street, as one of the lead singers and guitar players and performed at numerous weddings, corporate events (ie Bose Sound in Framingham), for Governor Sergeant at Hynes Auditorium. Donated time and played with Rex Trailer , for the Make A Wish Foundation with my band, and Dave Foley Band, a Nashville musician. Played Thursday night Country Music Night on Thursdays for Capt. Al and A.C. Cruise Lines in Boston for several years, and played on Majesty Cruise Lines from Boston to Bermuda. I was a sworn Brookline Police Dept. Sergeant/Acting Lieutenant for 20 years and became a driver/private security for John Denver. I also spent personal time with Willie Nelson on his bus in Boston and I supported his foundation for the Farmers in the USA and first supporting Earth Day playing in Boston when I was with him. I play solo but I prefer playing with a DUO or band for the enjoyment of the music. I have a long list of past customers and venues where we have performed for weddings mixing jazz, country, oldies, country rock, R&B and great dance songs by Al Green, Temptations, Four Tops, Stevie Wonder, so many others, and wedding requests for the marriage ceremonies, including Irish weddings, cocktail hour music, and really partying and dancing out on the dance floor. I'm used to working with dignitaries, VIPs, and you can expect total cooperation with us carrying out your wishes for your most important event after meeting with me, and making your needs and requests clear. Payne Stewart, was one of the world's greatest golfers who wore snickers at the Ryder Cup, was so impressed with my music at his party down town, he offered to relocate my entire family after enjoying our music and original songs, he offered me a full time job living in Orlando, Fla. He was truly a GREAT friend who I had so much fun with. I started sneaking into the Hillbilly Ranch in Boston and going to the Sugar Shack on Huntington Ave. and the Jazz Workshop and Paul's Mall when I was a kid and saw so many of the GREATS. ie. Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Roy Obison, Keny Rogers, The Temptations, Four Tops, Everly Brothers, Charles Mingus, Dave Brubeck, Chuck Mangione, Sergio Mendez, James Taylor, Carole King, etc. Unfortunately I played college football during Woodstock and had triple sessions at CCSU otherwise I would have been there too.
