The award winning Rachel Steele is looking in her rearview mirror as 2013 passes into the history books and looking forward to an even bigger and better year, with her band Road 88, as she negotiates the highways and byways of Northern California and beyond, bringing audiences a high energy performance that must be experienced in order to get the full impact of such talent. Rachel's musical prowess has been praised time and time again, not just by industry experts, but by a more important part of the musical equation - the listeners. In 2013 Rachel Steele and Road 88 won the coveted Sacramento Area Music Award, better known as the Sammies. The Sacramento News & Review's Sammie award is determine by votes from readers and fans throughout the Sacramento region. After tallying the thousands of votes this year, Rachel Steele and Road 88 won the award for best Americana/Alternative Country band. Having opened for country music greats like Big & Rich, Gretchen Wilson, Trace Adkins, Jason Michael Carol and Mark Chesnutt, Rachel Steele is a force to be reckoned with. As Rachel Steele, and Road 88 band members Scott Prentice (guitar/vocals), Charlie McGimsey (drums), Vinnie Panteleoni (bass), Bob Kinney (guitar) and Tony Windle (keys) are catapulted into 2014, they are working harder than ever to continue bringing their heart-pounding performances to a wider range of audiences. The energetic and “sassy” singer/songwriter brings her pristine vocals and her A-game to every performance. It's obvious by the way she works the stage, the crowd, and interacts with band members that she's the ultimate performer. Rachel Steele together with Scott Prentice have put pen to paper, pouring their heart and soul into songs like “Child of Innocence,” telling a passionate and emotional story of a little girl. Rachel's fun loving nature comes out in her original song, “The Shot Song,” Inspired by Gabriel Iglesias (A.K.A. Fluffy), who was able to single-handedly destroy 15 double shots of tequila. One line of the song references those 15 doomed shots of tequila, “Fluffy got me beat I saw him do 15." The songs always gets the crowd on their feet and singing. Rachel Steele and Road 88 are looking forward to soaring to new heights in the coming year. Why don't you come along for the ride? Road 88 is sponsored by: Cowboy Up Clothing Company Dean Markley Guitar strings What are you gonna get when you book Rachel Steele and Road 88, one heck of a crazy party, that's what you will get. For more pictures and audio/video content check out our web page at One thing that separates Rachel Steele and Road 88 from most of the other bands around is that Scott Prentice is a touring sound engineer. There are a lot of bands that can play well but most bands don't have the experience to really make what they're doing sound as good as it can. We have a "State Of The Art" Digital sound system and a lighting system that they will provide when needed. This, along with the excitement and passion that Road 88 has for what they do is sure to make your event a huge success!
