FlatBroke is a professional musical performing duo with a blend of great vocal harmonies and unique musical abilities. We play a mix of modern and classic country favourites, classic rock and roll, and original music. Our latest CD "Release the Reins" was released on October 12 2013. FlatBroke is sure to make your special event a memorable one. We engage audiences with an interactive blend of songs that create instant recognition and connection to a wide range of people. We play the music you remember and the tunes that you thought you forgot and instantly recognise as soon as you hear them. We are based out of the Edmonton area. All our members are proud Canadians and have been entertaining for many years. We will travel just about anywhere in Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia. When you hire FlatBroke for you special event, you will get an experience you will not soon forget. Playing as a duo band with instruments and backing tracks, we can give you the full band sound and show. Give us an idea of your budget when you ask for a quote so we can get a better idea of the type of show we can offer. We supply all our own sound and lighting equipment. Bonni Saunders (MacDonald) starting singing at the age of three and was considered a little "Shirley Temple" because she could sing and dance and amaze any audience with her natural talent, winning numerous awards. Bonni has sung at weddings and has hosted Karaoke shows and continues to use her amazing talent by singing on her worship team at Church and providing dynamic lead and backup vocals in FlatBroke. Hailing from Fredericton New Brunswick, Shawn Saunders started doing sound for bands and recording with local bands on Community TV while in high school. The thoughts of playing bass kept popping into his head so he purchased that first bass guitar at age 37. Dedicated to learning the bass and being in a band like his uncle, he learned the basics quickly and started using his vocal abilities as well. Shawn eventually joined a band that became FlatBroke and later Flat Broke II. After moving to Alberta in 2006, Shawn played with the Muskeg River Band, Emo Leblanc, Paul Lepage, and joined forces with Bonni Saunders to create the current version of FlatBroke.
