Nobody wants a speaker who talks and ten minutes later few remember what they said. So, my goal is to have the audience say what wins the day when heard from a judge on a television competition reality show, "I'm going to remember that presentation!" Lots of speakers say good things. Too few say memorable ones. I'm all about meaningful, memorable, useable and yet fun. I'm an experienced speaker, coach, author and consultant certified by the John Maxwell Team. Having worked in the education, business, counseling and several faith communities, I bring a rich background of experience, training and skills that make every talk very practical and applicable to both work and life. I focus on two major themes which of course can easily follow up into related areas as needed. Two of my six books focus on these areas and seem to resonate with a wide variety of audiences. The first book is "Never Quit Climbing: Overcoming Life's Seemingly Insurmountable Mountains." It's the story of my love for the mountains that grew out of many trips with my parents to the West. However that love took a turn when following a climb done with my wife, she was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. The book and my talk explain how we thankfully used principles from our climbing to get up the mountain of her cancer and more recently as I faced my kidney transplant. The second work and the newest is called, "Finding Dominoes: Changing Your World One Encounter At A Time." It's about finding purpose and meaning in one-at-a-time interactions with people everywhere who need someone to give them hope, resources, a greeting, a listening ear or other helpful response, touching them in a way that will cause them to help others. It resembles what the first domino starts in a huge display of dominoes. Overcoming and Finding Purpose. Two very important topics that connect with most and that I present using humor, real illustrations and memory tools that help your audience to think about well beyond the session.
