Birthday Party (Adult)Reviewed on February 19, 2012From Stillwater, OK

I couldn't have chosen a more perfect entertainer for my husband's 30th birthday. Stan was fantastic! He had my guests (45 guests: age 21-70) rolling in their seats! My husband said it was best gift I'd ever given him....I am so happy I hired Stan :) I asked Stan if he could "gig" my husband on getting old and his profession as a "bovine repro tech". Not only did Stan write new personalized jokes, he also wrote a short song and even drew a cartoon of my husband! The personal touch was priceless and hilarious!! (Something not every comedian can do...true talent.) Stan, I can't say thank you enough for everything...you made the night unforgetable!!

Corporate FunctionReviewed on July 24, 2011From Sand Springs, OK

I just wanted to say Thank You again for coming to our company function. We enjoyed having you. It was the first time we have ever done anything like that so it was a privilege to have you! I know we had a tough crowd but I have received several compliments this morning for hiring you. Thank you again for making this function one we can remember. Look forward to seeing ya’ll again in the future!

Corporate FunctionReviewed on February 13, 2014From Oklahoma City, OK

Stan Silliman was the single WORST speaker experience I have had in 15 years of setting up meetings and hiring speakers. He told terrible, completely inappropriate, offensive, vulgar jokes that no one laughed at. We expected him to tell anecdotes about sports fans from one of his books and he never even mentioned it. It was like a really bad night club act. I was offended and mortified that my members were subjected to his material. I should have stood up and put a stop to it immediately and regret that I didn't do that. If I hadn't already given him his check, I would have withheld it. I strongly suggest that you NOT book him for any kind of corporate event.

It's obvious Ms Dempsey didn't like me or my comedy but I need to counter a few things. I wasn't asked to specifically talk about my books. Almost all gigs I've ever got on GM were for comedy. I have 4 videos on GM clients normally view. It now seems she didn't look at them. The group I did stand-up for included 300 or so middle aged to older men with perhaps five women. I am old and gimpy and talked about the experience of being an old, gimpy guy without cursing, or swearing or using bad words, nothing you wouldn't see on Leno. Most of the people were laughing and smiling. My wife was just outside the room and could hear the laughter.

Holiday PartyReviewed on December 30, 2014From Oklahoma City, OK

I had a few issues with Stan. We hired him for a work event, and he was asked to keep his comedy on a PG level. There were specific topics that we discussed to ensure they were not mentioned, and he spoke of every one of them. In a normal enviroment, his comedy would have probably been funnier, but in a work enviroment, it was not. He also forgot that we had agreed to switch days so in my follow up email I had to reference him back to his confirmation from a month previous. However, he did still make the agreed date and time. Also, he requested an additional amount than we originally agreed upon. Brent James came with him as well and he was hilarious and appropriate.
