**WINNER FOR 5 YEARS IN A ROW OF "TOP CLASSICAL TRIO" IN THE US AND CANADA**
Amethyst is an exquisitely lovely trio of harp, violin & cello and the classic piano trio (violin, cello, piano). Besides concert and orchestral work, we have performed on TV, played for films, MTV music videos and with internationally renowned touring artists. We have also played several celebrity weddings, including that of Jason Newsted, bass guitarist for Metallica.
Our musicians have played in symphony halls, outdoors folk & jazz festivals, restaurants, bars, with rock bands, cafes, Las Vegas shows, rallies, and with touring companies and famous classical and pop artists. We have our own sound system so our group can be heard at outdoors events as well.
Mainly, we want to hear YOUR vision of the event, so that we can make that happen. Getting the music right is essential to your event. Our attitude is that we are there for you and we want to work with you to make your vision a reality.
One of our unique qualities is our versatility in style and instrumentation with only our small group. Our pianist is also a harpist and flutist and can bring more than one instrument to an event to provide variety. We play in a wide variety of styles besides classical, including jazz, Latin, pop/rock, Broadway and oldies.
We also play with an internationally-acclaimed vocalist who has sung in all the major US opera houses. For samples of the ensemble of our trio with this vocalist, visit our website.
Professional Qualifications: Our music degrees are from Manhattan School of Music, UC Berkeley, Mannes, Eastman, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Our pianist/harpist lived in both Rome and in Paris, where her performing career was based for several years. We are in the California Symphony, SF Sinfonietta, Symphony Silicon Valley (formerly San Jose Symphony) and Marin Symphony. We also play with members of the SF Symphony and SF Opera Orchestra. The opera singer we work with has sung with New York City, L.A., San Francisco & San Diego Operas.

"Incredible! I couldn't have asked for a better group. The music was spectacular and they were all extremely friendly and warm. Lara's harp playing was magical and created exactly the fairytale wedding we wanted. The sound of the strings and the harp is indescribably beautiful and was the perfect backdrop to such a meaningful day in all of our lives. Also, I was impressed at how easy the whole process was, including contacting the musicians ahead of time. Lara always returned my emails and phone calls within a very short time. We felt really comfortable throughout the whole process. Hiring Amethyst Trio was one of the best things we did and I recommend them highly!"

Lara, the contact person for the group who plays the harp and also piano, was very responsive and great to work with in the planning stages. "The Amethyst Trio was an amazing group to work with! We hired the pianist and violinist for our August wedding in Sonoma to play for one hour during the ceremony. They were both wonderful to work with from the beginning - very prompt, answered all of our questions and worked closely with us on all of the specific songs that we wanted during the ceremony. They were timely and very nice to work with and have at our wedding - the music was so beautiful and we couldn't have asked for better musicians on our special day. "Amethyst trio were excellent. I hired them for a memorial service. My father enjoyed the violin, and I wanted to have a nice violin piece during the service. They were able to provide multiple suggestions for the piece - we chose the Vivaldi Winter Largo section. They were on time and played while people were coming in. When it came to the piece in the middle of the memorial, there was a mixup with the funeral parlor and they started a video during the piece. The group took it in and even extended their music since the video went long. I received many compliments from attendees saying that they really enjoyed the music."

Our wedding was held at a resort, and I was very fortunate to have my bridal suite overlooking our ceremony site. I could hear the wonderful music as I put on the finishing touches.
This group sounds fantastic! My guests were delighted and many commented on how beautiful the music was after the event. Trust me, choosing this group is a “no-brainer”. If the Amethyst Trio is available on your event date, book them!
