Description
#1 NATIONALLY RATED CLASSICAL DUO/TRIO ON GIGMASTERS. Either as a lovely duo of violin & harp, a duo of violin & piano, our classic piano trio with cello, or a chamber quartet with harp or piano, we will create the ambiance you are seeking for a memorable event. As seasoned professionals, we always ensure the music fits the event and everything runs smoothly.
VARIETY: Our unique quality is our versatility in style and instrumentation. Our harpist is also a pianist and flutist and can bring more than one instrument to an event to provide variety. As a quartet with keyboard, we play an authentic baroque chamber orchestra sound, using both harpsichord and organ setting.(Listen on our website to many more audio samples). In addition to the variety in instruments, we play in a wide variety of styles, including jazz, pop/rock, broadway tunes, celtic and folk fiddling. Our violinist is known for his improvisational skills.
AMPLIFICATION: Having performed for many years in a variety of situations, we know how to enhance an event with music - including using amplification when needed. We find that, particularly with large outdoor weddings and noisy parties, it can make all the difference between an average event and something memorable. Many brides actually hire expensive sound companies to do this. In many cases, our equipment is adequate.
EXPERIENCE: We have played in illustrious venues from coast-to-coast, from Carnegie Hall in New York City to Davies Hall in San Francisco. We periodically go on tour to different parts of the world with various musical groups. Our violinist just returned from touring this summer in Switzerland with the SF Sinfonietta.
MUSIC DEGREES: Our music degrees are from Manhattan School of Music, UC Berkeley, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, & Illinois State Univ. Our pianist/harpist lived in both Rome and in Paris, where her performing career was based for several years.
ORCHESTRAS: We are in the Santa Cruz Symphony, SF Sinfonietta, San Jose Symphony (Symphony Silicon Valley), Marin Symphony & Berkeley Symphony.

- Having Oceans Sands Trio play at our Wedding was the BEST decision we made! It was the perfect touch to our perfect day. THANK YOU! -- Donna D, San Rafael, CA, 3/28/2009
- I can't say enough good things about the Ocean Sands Trio. They played from a very impressive repertoire for the three hours of our wedding reception and, even though there were 60 people in a relatively small space, their sound never "got in the way" of conversation. Lara is dependable, flexible and accommodating–three very important adjectives for the business she's in–and I wouldn't hesitate in giving her my highest and most enthusiastic recommendation! -- Kerry E, San Francisco, CA, 8/24/2008
- They were fantastic!!! I would recommend them to anyone! -- Colleen C, Hopland, CA, 10/5/2007

I can't say enough good things about her music and personality. I highly recommend her and I plan on hiring her again for another event. -- James H, San Francisco, CA, 10/22/2008
- Ocean Sands Trio was absolutely the final touch to my daughter's wedding day. They were on time and in the gazebo playing as I (mother of the bride) came to the wedding area. I walked up to them to greet them and they were all so cordial. Their professionalism was beyond measure. At the last minute the soloist for the wedding was unable to sing and Lara filled in singing "The Prayer." What a treat that was!!! I didn't have to frantically look around for a replacement - she was there and willing to help out. I never worried about anything for one minute - it was all taken care of and more. I would highly recommend this trio for any event. -- Susan W, Hollister, CA, 6/27/2008
- They were excellent, extremely professional and played beautifully. -- Danielle R, Burlingame, CA, 7/5/2008

- Lara was extremely accommdating, with many recommendations. She was very responsive to my questions and needs ( I was nervous about the wedding and I emailed her A LOT!)and she worked to make me feel comfortable and confident. She and her fellow musicians were punctual, professional, and their music was great. They also worked with our freind who sang at our wedding ceremony both before the event by email and on the day of the event before guests arrived.
