Description

JOY - Joy brings opera out from the theatre to fresh, lively places. Her concerts take place with festivals, in chapels everywhere from Princeton, New Jersey to Colombo, Sri Lanka. Her recordings take elegant songs on a picnic or to a party -- or anywhere magic and laughter blend.

Joy has appeared across the U.S.and Europe in operatic productions, concerts, weddings, fundraisers, festivals, conventions, and other private events.

She is an avid recitalist and has presented many distinctive programs in the U.S. and abroad. Her international experience from sumptuous to intimate hotel and convention venues, as well as her vast repertoire of romantic wedding music make her the perfect choice for distinctive events.

From New York City to Italy, the Caribbean, and Sri Lanka, Ms. Bechtler imbues each opera performance with her singular vocal talents and life experience. Her many roles demonstrate her vocal breadth and her theatrical range, whether it's performing Mimi in Puccini's La Bohème, Micaela in Carmen, or the Countess of Mozart's masterpiece.

This fall, her original show Little Jazz Bird - a half hour original dramatic setting of Gershwin songs is available for private living room soirees and The National Anthem, or the patriotic song of your choice at your association's next convention.

Joy studied music theory and orchestration with conductor Franco Autori and subsequently earned her master of music degree in voice from the University of Southern California. She has sung and performed in Italy and Israel with coaches and conductors of the Metropolitan Opera.
