DESCRIPTION:
The Steve DeConti Group. Jazz, pop, rock, swing, reggae, blues, are all part of the mix.
If you are looking for something a little different,someone who does not do all the same music that everyone else seems to do, please give me a call. I will also work with you on special songs that you may want.
I have tried to include a wide and eclectic variety of music in the samples, even the most popular of songs. I can do all or most of one style of music, if that is your preference. For example, if it's jazz and swing you prefer, I can put together the right combination of musicians for you.
The band also knows how to be in the background when you are dining and speaking to your guests. When you are ready to dance, we're ready!
We are also available for ceremonies with classical guitar, flute, piano as soloists or in any combination. For the cocktail hour or small gatherings, a duo or trio, with or without vocals, can be just right. Play our mixes or yours through our bose sound system when the band is finished. The band can wear formal, semi formal, or casual attire. Available from solo to six piece band playing the style of music you prefer from our repertoire.
Since graduating from Boston’s Berklee College of Music in 1980, Steve has been in demand as a musician. During his twenty five year tenure as a professional musician, Steve has worked for numerous private clients and agencies in MA, RI, and Southeastern CT. Steve and his bands have played in all the finest venues from hotels and country clubs to the Newport mansions and private homes. Steve has performed hundreds of private parties, weddings and other functions. If your needs are for either background music, dancing, or both, Steve is able to tailor the music to fit the appropriate mood and ambiance.
Some 2006 performance highlights include: “The Pell Awards”, The Rhode Island Convention Center, Prov. RI (w/The North Star Jazz Ensemble, quintet). Honda America corporate retreat, Mohegan Sun Casino, (w/ guitarist Ron Murray, trio). Concert at Kinney Bungalo, Narragansett,RI (w/Ron Murray, duo). Steve performed on guitar, flute, mandolin, voice. “Gallery Night” RISD Museum, The Rhode Island School Of Design, Prov. RI (solo jazz Guitar) The Newport Art And Antique Show, Newport ,RI (solo classical guitar) Every Tuesday eve. at Trattoria Sympatico from Memorial day to Labor Day, Jamestown, RI (duo w/pianist Ron Sanfilippo. our sixth year!). CLIENT FEEDBACK:
The Steve Deconti band played at our wedding ceremony and reception. They are exceptional musicians. We worked together to pick songs that would work the best for the ceremony. In the end we had flute and keyboard. It was incredible. For the reception, the band learned to play the songs to our first and last dances. They sounded better than the original! They always kept the dance floor hopping and knew when to slow things down. They even accomodated us by playing for an extra 1/2 hour since the guests were still dancing. I recommend them to everyone. They are truly amazing. Book them today!!!

I found Steve to be a wonderful person as well as a very talented musician. He did everything he said he would and more. His choice of music was enjoyed by several generations. That goes a long way. I highly recommend Steve for anything that you need a musician for.
