DESCRIPTION:
The Silverleaf String Quartet was formed in 1990 by Richmond Symphony musicians Paul and Susan Bedell, and has been performing for weddings, receptions, Christmas parties, and wedding anniversaries ever since. Members of the quartet are an integral part of the Virginia musical scene, performing in the Richmond, Williamsburg and Virginia Symphonies, as well as in innumerable church, choral, and chamber music concerts
Our mission as musicians is to make your dream come true. We guide you where you need guidance, we follow you when you lead. And as excellence is our expectation, Susan attends wedding rehearsals when possible to time processionals and gather knowledge about the ceremony to insure a smooth and dependable event. The professionalism and experience of the quartet members insures as well the highest quality of music making you can want. Although we are willing to travel to many areas in Virginia, because of traffic issues it is not cost effective for us to travel to Northern Virginia. Our repertoire has grown over the years by honoring special requests. Brides have come down the aisle to everything from the Pachelbel Canon and the Clark Trumpet Voluntary to Louis ArmstrongÂ's Â"What a Wonderful WorldÂ". Couples have recessed to everything from the famous Purcell Trumpet Tune and MendelssohnÂ's Â"Wedding MarchÂ" to the popular tune Â"Bittersweet SymphonyÂ" by The Verve. We have provided traditional Swedish music for a Swedish bride and Armenian music for an Armenian reception. BeatleÂ's tunes for the funeral of a Beatles lover and 2 hours worth of romantic music for a candlelight dinner in a B&B dining room, honoring the coupleÂ's 20th wedding anniversary, are some of our more memorable occasions. In short, we are happy to work with you and help you make your dream come true. It is important to know that leaving a deposit with Gigmasters does not automatically bind a contract with us. You will need to contact us directly, as we will issue our own contract and deposit.

The Silverleaf String Quartet was very good. They played beautifully and a number of guests commented to me on how much they enjoyed the music. They were very helpful in the planning stages and made it clear they wanted to perform their best for my wedding. There were a couple of snaffoos, but they were minor and were resolved quickly and easily, and probably would not have occured had I been clearer in my communications. Very excellent band of musicians that can play classical and Beatles. And now a little bit of Elvis, too.
