Former Windham Hill Records recording artist and Los Angeles area resident Carol Tatum is available as a SOLO HARPIST.

Although I perform mostly as a solo harpist, we are also available as HARP DUO (harp/flute), HARP TRIO (harp/flute/cello) or HARP QUARTET (trio percussion).

Carol performs for WEDDINGS, corporate and private events, parties, festivals, etc. Carol's group, Angels of Venice, has performed for The Screen Actors Guild Awards (first two years), Henry Kissinger, Cardinal Roger Mahoney, Phyllis Diller, Bob Hope, Sting, Don Henley and many more. Carol has also played for The City Of Los Angeles, The City Of Beverly Hills, The City Of Pasadena, The City Of Alhambra, Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, etc. and for charities such as WeSpark (recently seen on 'Entertainment Tonight' and 'Access Hollywood' {July, 2004}), Project Angel Food, Children's Health Coalition, etc.

Carol appeared as a harpist in a wedding scene on the reality show 'Renovate My Family' (Sept. 2004) with Jay McGraw (Dr. Phil's son). Carol also appeared in an episode of 'Extreme Makeovers: Wedding Edition' in May, 2005, Channel 7/ABC with Liza Minelli singing for the reception.

BIOGRAPHY/CREDITS: Carol has TOURED THE UNITED STATES and was a featured artist on Windham Hill's 'Winter Solstice' tour performing at The Kennedy Center and other performing arts centers (3,500+ seats). Her Windham Hill CD 'Angels of Venice' was submitted by her record label for a Grammy nomination. She is on twelve Windham Hill compilation CDs including 'Conversations with God, Disc 2,' 'Here, There and Everywhere: The Songs of the Beatles,' 'Winter Solstice On Ice' (including DVD), 'Summer Solstice I,' 'Summer Solstice II,' and more. Carol is a member of S.A.G. (Screen Actors Guild) and her music has been featured in documentaries, commercials and the feature film "Big Bully" with veteran soul group The Dramatics.

Carol has five independent CDs SOLD WORLDWIDE. Carol's recordings have been featured on NPR's syndicated radio program 'Echoes' airing to 165 national radio stations and are also sold worldwide including Japan and Europe. Her second CD 'Awake Inside A Dream' was reviewed in Billboard Magazine and 'highly recommended.' Carol's most recent recording is a holiday CD entitled 'Sanctus' which was featured on an NPR radio show and played in it's entirety twice on Christmas Day. WEDDING INFORMATION: Most brides do not realize that an unamplified harp is hard to hear. Most harpists only play acoustically or through a small amplifier. CAROL PLAYS THROUGH A PROFESSIONAL P.A. SYSTEM, and a professional soundman monitors her performances, which results in the very best possible sound for your important event.

Carol plays a custom made harp and her harp tone is characterized as WARM, RICH, AND FULL SOUNDING unlike the thin, brittle tone of most harps. Since her harp was custom made, you will not hear the brittle tone. Carol's beautiful harp looks like an antique with tasteful gold leaves and vines painted on the soundboard.

Carol's RATES ARE REASONABLE and she will travel from Santa Barbara to Palm Springs to San Diego and all of Southern California as well as to Arizona, Las Vegas, Texas, etc. and any out-of-state arrangements can be made. Themed events, such as the Renaissance or Middle Eastern, are available (Carol also plays the hammered dulcimer in the middle eastern/santour style). Percussion can be added to any musician combination and this is a unique and refreshing way to showcase classical instruments instead of a standard string quartet sound.

Special atmospheric LIGHTING is also available (PAR 20s, 40s, etc.) with amber, pink, violet, blue, etc. gels to create a 'large production' mood. Hi Carol: You performed at my daughter Stephanie's baby shower back in June. I wanted to let you know that the CD I bought for Stephanie was played by her every day during the last part of her pregnancy. She had the baby on July 11 and the chuckle is that the baby calms down and relaxes when Stephanie plays the CD for her. No other music works ~ just your CD.
