At age 12 she was the protege of Sophocles Papas, a close friend and colleague of the acclaimed Spanish guitarist, Andres Segovia, and went on to study at San Francisco Conservatory and earn a B.A. in classical guitar performance from Bard College. Since then Annalisa has won numerous sought-after awards for her solo concert series and counts Fidelity Investments and the 2007 USTA Open, where she was a featured peformer this summer, among her many clients. The music for your wedding, corporate event, or any gathering is customized from her extensive playlist, which spans four centuries of guitar music from the Renaissance through the 20th century and embraces the passionate music of distinguished Latin-American composers, the fire of flamenco, and the great guitar composers of Europe.

Annalisa was wonderful! She did an incredible job of synthesizing our requests and then realizing them at the wedding. We wanted traditional New England melded with traditional Costa Rican... she had a wonderfully varied repeertoire of Elizabethan, Classical, Spanish and Latin American music. Annalisa Ewald was extremely talented, professional and friendly. Many of our guests commented on the beautiful music she was able to provide for our ceremony and reception and how much they enjoyed her presence. She is a brilliant musician and yet is able to play with enough subtlety that our reception did not become a musical event. My husband, who hadn't had a chance to speak with her prior to the event, was so happy that Annalisa was able to play for us! We hired Annalisa Ewald to play classical guitar for a holiday party at our home. We have a very old tudor which we dressed up in holiday attire, and Annalisa's performance provided an elegant finishing touch. She played a mix of carols, English music from the Elizabethan era, 19th century sonatas, waltzes and more. She set a festive mood without being intrusive or demanding. She played throughout the 4 hour event with a minimum of breaks. Our guests were very complementary of her performance. Annalisa's a very delightful lady and we would highly recommend her to other potential clients without hesitation.
