At age 12 she was the protege of Sophocles Papas, a close friend and colleague of the acclaimed Spanish guitarist, Andres Segovia, and went on to study at San Francisco Conservatory and earn a B.A. in classical guitar performance from Bard College.

Since then Annalisa has won numerous sought-after awards for her solo concert series and in addition to her many private clients, counts well-received performances at Caramoor and the Boston Early Music Festival, and for Fidelity Investments, the USTA Open, the Pilot Pen Tennis Tournament, among her recent events. The custom playlist for your event is drawn from four centuries of international guitar music and embraces the passionate music of distinguished Latin-American composers, the fire of flamenco, and the great guitar composers of Europe. Annalisa specializes in Latin American and Baroque music and also performs on period instruments.

• We hired Annalisa Ewald to play classical guitar for a holiday party at our home. We have a very old tudor which we dressed up in holiday attire, and Annalisa's performance provided an elegant finishing touch. She played a mix of carols, English music from the Elizabethan era, 19th century sonatas, waltzes and more. She set a festive mood without being intrusive or demanding.
