Rick Emberley- trumpet/piccolo trumpet performer Trumpet Player from Jaffrey, NH

Rick Emberley began his classical music training in trumpet while in fourth grade, giving his first solo performance three years later. Rick is currently a graduate student at Worcester Polytechnic Institute enrolled in civil and fire protection engineering. Rick is a trumpet player in the WPI concert band, brass ensemble, orchestra, and wind ensemble. Rick is a Music Association Officer, Symphonic Association Officer and holds a seat on the Humanities and Arts Student Advisory Council. Rick has received many scholarships awards for his performances, including first place in the national AACS competition, chairs for three years in the New England Intercollegiate Band, and was winner of the prestigious Charles Schlueter Foundation Award which honors trumpet performers for their musical talent. WPI has recognized Rick's scholastic diligence by naming him a Presidential Scholar, a Charles Thompson Scholar and Rick has been inducted into Chi Epsilon and Tau Beta Pi for his outstanding academic achievements. In 2009, Rick performed Vivaldi's Concerto for Two Trumpets with Joseph Krasinskas on a WPI orchestra tour of Ireland. In 2010 Rick soloed with the WPI orchestra performing "Trumpet Concerto" by Pakmutova. Rick had the opportunity in December of 2010 to solo with the MA Symphony Orchestra performing "The Dettingen Te Deum" by Handel. This year, Rick performed a very difficult solo on piccolo trumpet with the WPI orchestra, Bach's "Brandenburg Concerto No. 2". Rick has played for the WPI Alden Voices, has been in numerous musical pit orchestras, performed with the WPI brass ensemble as they were taped for cable TV and this month will perform for rapper Honors English's music video at Mechanics Hall. He has also been a member of several professional brass quintets, most notably the Monadnock Brass and currently the Worcester Brass. Rick has studied piano with Sara Whitehouse and trumpet with Floyd Oster, Charles Schlueter, Dan Farina and is currently the student of Jon Clark. Rick will consider jobs in the New England area.
