Even if you aren't a fan of classical music, there are certain times that call for the beauty and power of a classically trained voice. I consider it an honor and a calling to enhance the joy of your celebration or provide comfort during times of grief. I am a mezzo-soprano and voice teacher with a master's degree in vocal performance from the University of Northern Colorado, based in the Denver Metro area. I am also the music director at my church in central Denver. I have sung for memorial services, and weddings in Denver and in my home state of Virginia. Currently, I sing with local performance groups and opera companies. I can find additional musicians as needed, if you do not have a pianist in mind, and if you would like to have vocal duets instead of solos. I sing a wide variety of music, from classical favorites like Ave Maria, pop-classical crossover like You Raise Me Up, African-American spirituals, and traditional hymns. I also include some musical theater and jazz standards in my repertoire. (See the list below.) I can learn most songs with 1-2 days of notice, so don't hesitate to ask about any songs that are not on the list.
