Justin R Brown- Pianist Classical Pianist from Somerset, NJ

I am a 2017 graduate of Westminster Choir College, Cum Laude, in Princeton, NJ. There, I received a Bachelor of Music in Piano. Music is my passion. I started playing the piano at age 9. I play all styles of music including classical, pop, jazz, and gospel. I also play the violin, guitar, and organ. I enjoy improvising. I have composed many pieces, including My Love Is Never Forgotten. I have competed in various competitions: The Assemblies of God Fine Arts Festival (2007-2010, 2012), advancing to the nationals in 2008, 2009 and 2010. I have also competed in the NAACP Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO) 2012-2013 and continued to advance. I have performed multiple times with the Westminster Choirs as a vocalist and a Concerto Concert with The Westminster Community Orchestra. I was awarded the 2019 Somerset County Cultural and Heritage Commission's Excellence in the Arts Award. I recently played with the Bernards Ensemble at the Arc Angel Gala in Bridgewater, NJ. I also love to play with other musicians. My other interests include navigating and mathematics. I have held various jobs, including a theatre accompanist at the Somerset County Vo-tech in Bridgewater, NJ. (Nov. 2013), a math tutor (2015), a church musician at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Hillsborough, NJ. (Sept. 2015-present) Second Calvary Baptist Church (September 2019-present) in Hopewell, NJ, The Arc of Mercer County (June 2018-Feb. 2020), and Arc of Somerset County (Nov. 2018-March 2023). I also enjoyed sharing my gift of music at the Atrium Senior Living of Princeton, New Jersey (Sept 2018-April 2019). I actively continue to volunteer my services in the community. Presently, I am a Piano Instructor at Music Notes Academy in East Brunswick, NJ.
