Lisa Marie Kahn is currently the main harpist for the Drake Hotel, where you can see her perform as a soloist several times a week for tea time.

While maintaining her orchestral and freelance career, Lisa is pursing a Performance Diploma at Chicago College of the Performing Arts with Sarah Bullen, principal harpist of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. She holds a Master of Music from the University of Illinois and Bachelor of Music from the Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music. Currently, she is the associate principal harpist with Tulsa Symphony Orchestra and principal harpist of the Danville Symphony Orchestra.

Lisa began studying harp at the age of 12 with Patricia Masri-Fletcher, principal harpist of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Prior to college, she spent two summers studying and performing at Interlochen Arts Camp and performed as principal harpist with several youth orchestras, including the Detroit Civic Sinfonia Symphony Orchestra and the Dearborn Youth Symphony. She was selected to perform as the principal harpist at the Michigan Youth Arts Festival in 2004, where she played under the direction of conductor Thomas Wilkins. She continued her studies with Gillian Benet Sella, principal harpist of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music in 2005, on scholarship.

In the spring of 2009, she accepted the position of Harpist at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Michigan, where she performed at least twice daily prior to moving to Illinois. She earned her Master of Music with Dr. Ann Yeung at the University of Illinois School of Music in May of 2011, where she received a full scholarship. In January of 2011, she was a prize winner at the Harp Days! Competition held at Michigan State University and competed in the Lyon and Healy awards competition in June, 2011 in Denton, Texas.

Lisa Marie Kahn has played countless weddings, parties, and other special events and is very experienced as a soloist. She performs from a very large selection of classical, baroque, renaissance, opera, musical theatre, pop and jazz standards. Known for her musicality and flair as a performer, she can something special to your wedding or event.
