Lucas Carballeira Classical Guitarist from Austin, TX

Lucas Julián Carballeira is a guitarist, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and teacher of music. His passion for music has inspired him to explore styles as diverse as classical, rock, jazz, heavy metal and everything in between. Beginning at just five years old on piano, Carballeira discovered his real passion for music when his soccer coach showed him how to play a guitar chord through a cranked Marshall amplifier. From then, Carballeira joined numerous bands performing all over his hometown of Tucson. Inspired by the caliber of Professor Tom Patterson's top guitar students at University of Arizona, Carballeira would decide to study classical guitar, attaining a BA in Classical Guitar Performance and Master's degree in Music Theory. During his studies, he spent a year abroad at the Superior Conservatory in Vigo, Spain, under the tutelage of Margarita Escarpa. Throughout his studies, Carballeira traveled all over North America and Europe, participating in festivals and competitions. He also received masterclasses from the top guitarists in the world, including David Russell, Sergio Assad, Lorenzo Micheli, and many others. Carballeira moved to Austin, Texas in May 2023, seeking more musical opportunities.
