John holds bachelors and masters degrees in guitar performance, and has been performing for events of all kinds for over 10 years. John's style is ideal for events where a relaxing, intimate atmosphere is desired. John has performed for many weddings, dinner parties, restaurants, exhibitions, cultural arts festivals, etc. Having spent most of his childhood in Latin America (Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, and Peru), John has a special affection for Latin American music, and performs many works by Latin American composers.

John makes sure that doing business with him is as stress free as possible. John has a list of questions for prospective clients, in order to ensure that he is the right match for their event. If John's style does not fit the role being sought after, John will not hesitate to say so upfront, and graciously recommend another performer that fits the bill. For gigs where amplification is needed, John uses an AER Compact Classic Pro amplifier. This is the only amplifier on the market that is specifically designed for the classical guitar. One of the main challenges classical guitarist face when using amplification, is that the sound from the amplifier is very artificial or "plasticky." This is because acoustic guitar amplifiers are designed for steel string guitars, and cannot accurately capture the nuances and warmth of classical, nylon strings.
