"ELOQUENT...A fluent guitarist"--The New York Times - Guitarist Andrew Schulman is a soloist with three decades of experience in New York City music life, repertoire ranging from Bach to the Beatles and more. Andrew's steady engagements in New York have included The Palm Court at The Plaza Hotel, Windows On The World, The Mark Hotel, and The InterContinental/The Barclay. He is also a recording artist, on the Centaur label. Concert appearances have included Carnegie Recital Hall, Merkin Hall in NY - Royal Albert Hall, Purcell Room in London - among many others. Special events have included The White House (1997 & 1999), the Library of Congress, and many other notable venues.
Andrew Schulman founded the Abaca String Band in 1990: 8-string guitar, mandolin, violin, viola, and double bass. The group was ensemble-in-residence at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for Membership Events from 1991-2004, and on the roster of the Carnegie Hall Neighborhood Concert Series from 1995-2007. They have played in concert in over 35 states.
Andrew is well known for his arrangements of a wide ranging repertoire of classical and popular music; Bach, Mozart, Albeniz, Villa-Lobos, Gershwin, Ellington, the Beatles, and much more. He creates a sound that fits the needs of the host.
In addition to his regular performance work he is the Resident Music Artist in the Surgical ICU at Beth Israel Medical Center in NY. Media coverage includes a WNBC broadcast which won a 2012 NY Emmy for Best Human Interest Story and also won the National Press Photographers "Best in PhotoJournalism" award. He was NY-1's "New Yorker of the Week" in January 2011 and was recently featured in a BBC-4 radio program, part of their award winning "Soul Music" series.

"Working with Andrew for our wedding ceremony and cocktail reception was absolutely wonderful. Before the event, he worked with us to select songs for our ceremony and went through his playlist for us, taking close note of any special requests. He is very responsive and professional.
