Born and raised in the suburbs of Los Angeles, Sara began taking piano lessons at age five, took up the violin for a couple years, and started on the flute in fifth grade. She went on to major in flute performance at the highly distinguished University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music under the tutelage of Jim Walker, a very prominent figure in flute circles. After college, turned off by some aspects of the professional music world, she tried various career routes that would allow for music on the side. Recently, after a year into nursing school, it became clear that she needed to return to music! She is excited to be able to be playing the flute, and in her spare time she loves to play the piano. In the future, she would love to learn to play the classical guitar and rhythm-based drum instruments.
