About Vendor

Learn more about this vendor for your event.

Professional, unique, & captivating... with solo guitar and vocals,Gene O'Neill plays in two venue styles:Classical and Romantic Jazz for weddings and receptions... Or, Blues and Jazz: Music from the American Songbook,Standards,Chicago Blues,60's Motown,Beach Music,Classic Country and Light Jazz. Music perfectly suited for receptions, parties, cocktails and dining.Gene will glady play an entire event with guitar and vocals,or instrumental music only. Requests are always welcome. Gene became interested in the guitar shortly after seeing "The Segovia Master Class" when it was shown on WUNC-TV in the late 60's. Seeing that the solo guitarist could play melodies and bass parts at the same time, left a lasting impression on Gene. R&B and Rock music became an important influence later on. Gene's brother,Jim,got him started playing electric guitar. This began a long, happy detour from classical music. Playing in a series of local bands culminated in Gene playing professionally for nearly 10 years. During this time,Gene began writing and performing original music and has since recorded 5 solo CD's of mostly original Jazz,Blues and Americana music.

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on December 3, 2013From Raleigh, NC

This was my daughter's wedding and Gene did an exceptional job! He worked with her to establish a very complimentary set of songs, and performed flawlessly. He also payed close attention before and during the ceremony to add just the right musical accent. Gene has a lot of experience, offered good suggestions and was great to work with. We would highly recommend Gene for your next event.

Wedding ReceptionReviewed on July 2, 2012From Durham, NC

Gene was absolutely amazing: professional, punctual, capable, and best of all, a lovely and immensely talented musician. We hired him for our wedding, and it really helped make the ceremony a success. A+ all around.

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on January 26, 2012From Raleigh, NC

Gene's performance was first-class in all areas!! We received countless positive comments not only during the evening, but days after wards. His overall style was purely professional. Without a doubt we would be honored to have Gene appear at any future function we have! A Five star rating is not enough in recommending Gene. Please use us as a referral for him in the future.
