I am an acoustic (sitting down) and electric (standing up) cellist.  I often perform at weddings and private parties. The style of the music is diverse: from standard classical solo cello music or arrangements of popular classical pieces, to party-like electric cello improvisation accompanied by backing tracked beats and effects. 
 
I have performed at over 500 weddings for the past 15 years, some of which were a very high profile, such as the wedding for the Queen of Qatar, (U.A.E).
I also provide services at fashion shows, special private events (all over the US and multiple at the islands of Greece), as well as perform at Congress Meetings and other home-held parties and gatherings.

My style is quite diverse: from traditional Classical pieces to Pop and R&B standards.  Very often, I arrange or I transcribe songs requested by a future brides  for their special day!

I have performed on TV shows such as: 55th Grammy Awards Show; The Late Show with David Letterman and the Jingle Ball event with Kanye West; BET Awards with P.Diddy, 2010; Latin Grammy Awards, Las Vegas, Nov. 2011; American Idol featuring Lana Del Rey, March 2012; Gstaad (Switzerland), performance with Lang Lang, Feb. 2012; Clint Holmes Show, Las Vegas, May 2012; Latin Grammys/Person of the Year - Caetano Veloso, Natalie Cole, Nelly Furtado, Las Vegas, November 2012; SoulTrain Awards, John Legend, Las Vegas, November 2012;  Celine Dion Shows, Las Vegas, December 2012-March, 2013, Grammy Awards for carrie Underwood, 2013.

Also, I have performed at political conferences for Bill Clinton and Mitt Romney. 

Up to the fall of 2005, I was a teaching assistant for Rhonda Rider at Wellesley College.  Presently, I am a cello faculty at Santa Monica Academy of Music.

Irina was wonderful! Very professional, showed up early to our event. Returned all my emails promptly prior to event. She plays the Cello beautifully....could not have been happier. She even played a couple of requests from one of our guests. Her music added  the perfect ambiance we wanted for our special evening. I would hire her again in a heart beat!!! 

Ms Chirkova was the icing on the cake at our wedding. Her talent is above all, and all of our guest were taken back by her. She performed exactly how she said she would. I would recommend her to anyone for any type of occasion. This was a very pleasent experience with gigmasters and Ms. Chirkova.

Irina is most excellent on the cello.  She has an overall understanding of music that will benefit any gig. She plays acoustic and electric cello. She is absolutely one of the best cello players in the USA.

Irina Chirkova was amazing! Absolutely talented women, beautiful and professional. Words cannot explain the way her music made me feel. The best thing about our wedding was Irina’s performance. She will always hold a special place in my heart because she made our wedding truly a dream come true with her music. 

Irina was fabulous! I hired her for my wedding on August 15, 2010. She was willing to work with me regarding rehearsal times and music. She was very professional and always on time.
