Bryant Gozali, 20, is the student of the former Principal Cellist of the Cleveland Orchestra, Stephen Geber, at the Cleveland Institute of Music. Bryant started playing the cello at the age of 9 with the Director of the Xiamen University Arts Department, Professor Su Li in China. His past accomplishments included receiving second prize in the Ai Qin Bei National Cello Competition in China in 2004 and 2006. Bryant moved to Singapore in 2007 and studied under the former Associate Principal Cellist of the Singapore Symphony, Hermina Ilano for 5 years. During the years in Singapore, Bryant had been appointed Principal Cellist in his school orchestra, and a growing orchestra called the Orchestra of the Music Makers under the baton of Maestro Chan Tze Law. Bryant helped the school orchestra achieve the Gold Medal in the Singapore Youth Festival Orchestra Competition in 2007 and 2009. He also participated in the 6th Asian Youth Music Competition Grand Finals competing with all string players around Asia and received the Bronze award (tied second place). Bryant also helped the Orchestra of the Music Makers to achieve the HSBC Youth Excellence Award in 2009. In 2010, Bryant was invited as a soloist to perform Haydn's First Cello Concerto in C with the Jakarta Simfonia Orchestra. He was then invited as a regular artist in the Aula Simfonia Jakarta Concert Hall. In the same year, Bryant went back to the United States to take private lessons from the Principal Cellist of the San Diego Symphony, and the cellist of the Greatwall String Quartet, Yao Zhao. Bryant was invited to play Saint Saens' first Cello Concerto in A minor with the Great Wall Soloist Orchestra in 2012 after winning the concerto competition in the Great Wall International Music Academy in 2011. Bryant had performed lessons and master classes for many different distinguish musicians such as Paul Katz, William Grubb, Leslie Tan, Qin Li Wei, Yu Ming Qing, Robert deMaine, Yumi Kendall, Hans Jørgen Jensen and many more. As a chamber musician, he is currently working with his sister Aileen Gozali, and a colleague Justin Woo in a Piano Trio. Past performances included the chamber music written by Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, Prokofiev, Dvorak, Brahms, Ravel and Debussy. Bryant also worked with many outstanding chamber artists such as the Cavani String Quartet, the Tokyo Quartet, the American String Quartet, the Great Wall String Quartet, and Christopher O'Riley from the Radio Show "From the Top". Recently, Bryant was accepted in the National Orchestral Institute in 2013 and has performed many difficult repertoire such as Strauss' Ein Heldenleben, Don Juan, Mahler's 6th Symphony, Ravel's Daphnis et Chloe, Adam's Harmonielebre and Schoenberg's Chamber Symphony No. 1 under the batons of Maestro Rossen Milanov, Maestro Asher Fisch, and raising Conductor Alan Pierson.
