DESCRIPTION:
Sean Michael Mireau and the "Volcano island Band" create a lively and festive atmosphere by performing live calypso/island/luau/reggae/steel drum music. They can play soft, ambient, instrumental, background music or higher energy party music with vocals. They have performed at events with attendance as small as ten people or as large as one thousand people. Sean Michael can perform as a solo musician on steel drums by playing along with a rhythm machine that plays bass and drums. But, for more energy and variety, there is also the option of adding additional instruments such as additional steel drums, guitar, congas, electric piano, marimba, vibraphone, or drum set by adding one to seven members of Sean's band "Volcano". Sean has been working as a professional musician in the southwest United States since 1984. Sean sings, plays piano, drum set, steel drums, marimba, vibraphone, xylophone, glockenspiel, tympani, congas, and numerous Latin percussion instruments. He started playing steel drums in 1992 as a member of the Arizona State University "Pandevils" steel drum band. Sean has an Associate of Arts Degree from Central Arizona College and he studied percussion and Jazz Performance at Arizona State University from 1990 to 1993. While studying music at ASU, Sean performed in over 50 concerts and recitals as a soloist and as a member of the ASU Big Band, New Music Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Marimba Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Percussion Jazz Ensemble, and numerous jazz combos. He placed first in the 1991 Drum Corps International Individual and Ensemble Competition held in Dallas, Texas and has made numerous television appearances in Arizona since 1995 including on KTVK Channel 3 and KSAZ Channel 10. Sean has performed in twenty-three states nationally and his international performance locations include Canada, Turkey, Italy, Greece, and Spain. Sean and his band have provided live musical entertainment for countless wedding receptions, birthday parties, anniversary parties, pool parties, cocktail parties, office parties, Christmas parties, grand openings, and events of all kinds. They have performed numerous times at every major resort in the Phoenix area including the Arizona Biltmore, The Camelback Inn, The Scottsdale Hilton, The Phoenician, the Pointe Hilton Resorts, the Scottsdale Princess, the Ritz Carlton, the J.W. Marriot at Desert Ridge, The Wig Wam, and the Hyatt Regency at Gainey Ranch in Scottsdale. I would highly recommend Sean Mireau again and again! His music was superior. I had other entertainment during the party and he was gracious enough to allow them to use his cd player and microphone as he watched their hula performance.
He worked with me and my interruptions as I had party guests "Roast" the birthday boy between his musical performance.
My guests asked for his cards and said they truly enjoyed his music. He was a one man band but you would have never guessed it was a single performer.

The performer, Sean Mireau, showed up with plenty of time to set up before scheduled start time. He was very easy to work with and very talented. The music was fantastic! It really gave my party a very unique feel and everyone really enjoyed it! I would definitely recommend Volcano Island band to anyone.
