Description

With an elegant cadence, Pepe and Gloria infuse a touch of their own Latin American roots, to a varied and carefully selected repertoire of American, Brazilian, and other Latin standards, that include music by Antonio Carlos Jobim, Jorge Ben, Lennon and McCartney, Paul Anka, and many other great composers.
The sensibility and impeccable technic of Pepe in his guitar, blend gracefully with Gloria's gentle voice, which has a resonance of the pioneer Brazilian singers, Astrud Gilberto and Nara Leão. Gloria sings in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and occasionally in French and Italian.
Pepe and Gloria can also work as a trio and quartet, by adding the expertise and versatility of Fernando Losada (guitar, upright bass, and Venezuelan cuatro), and Pablo Limo (percussions). As a duo, trio, or quartet, they will adapt to the particular needs of your event. They can play completely acoustic, semi-acoustic, or can be arranged to bring their high-quality sound system.

As for their personal music achievements, Pepe is known for his influence to the Afro-Peruvian Jazz in his native Peru, and has traveled around the world representing his country. He has composed and arranged for well-known Peruvian artists, as well as for his city's Big Band and for the Lima Youth Symphonic Orchestra. A great contribution of Pepe to world music, is the fact that he was the first to fuse the contemporary Peruvian waltz with the Argentinean tango.

Gloria sung for seven years in a Christian band called Maranatha, in Mexico City, with whom she traveled to different parts of the country. In Los Angeles, she was for two years the leading singer of the Latin American folk band Tukuypaj, with whom she performed for educative and cultural institutions, including the Long Beach City College, and MOLAA, as well as for private receptions. She currently sings for the Long Beach-based Bossa Nova and Jazz band Along for the Ride.

Pepe and Gloria are working on the production of their first album that will compile representative songs of Latin America and the United States with a common African root.
