Tenry Johns brings his love of the blues to the stage with such a fun and energetic presence that he's known as TJ "the KING KONG ROCKER". With four albums under his belt, Tenry has come a long way from his humble beginnings in a small town in the Delta called Shelby, Mississippi. His performances bring together a wide array of blues, rhythm & blues, soul, funk and rock n' roll. He brings his audience out on the floor with rockin' blues, soulful ballads and steppers grooves. TJ started his first band at the age of 15 while he while still in high school, and after graduating in the mid '60s, his family moved to Chicago where he looked up his cousin, notable local singer/songwriter and performer, Johnny Drummer, and the two started playing together regularly. Eventually, Tenry and his brothers formed "The Johns Brothers Band" playing behind the fabulous Denise La Salle and her protege, Bill Coday.
