DESCRIPTION:
Formed in 2001 in Southern Colorado, the power trio consists of Jack Kennedy, Michael Kimbrell and Craig Haughton. They perform at various venues including Clubs, Weddings, Private Parties and Sponsored Events. Music styles range from Neil Diamond to Sublime and everything in between. Playing mostly one hit wonders from the 60’s to present they try to break the mold of the average cover band. For weddings and private parties Richard Zemcik joins in on keyboards when requested. When not gigging they are working on several projects such as soundtracks for film and commercial music applications.
They have worked with Watt Imagination, Yamaha and currently they are involved in “Songs In English”, an collection of songs written by Ron English and Jack Medicine.
Check out their current CD, “Audiosis” available at iTunes.Live shows are a special blend of funk, pop and rock-n-roll covers as well as their popular originals. They cover a broad range of artists from the 60's to the present and the covers that they play are beyond the range of the average cover band. Depending on the atmosphere, they can keep the dance floor packed or play softly to allow the crowd to converse and relax. If you are interested in booking a Private Party, Wedding or Live show, feel free to contact us for rates.

CLIENT FEEDBACK:
Velvet Rut played for my wedding and they were awesome. They traveled over 100 miles to play in our very small town and blew the town away. They made the "party of the year." I was very impressed with their talent and how flexible they were. They learned a song that I requested to play in my wedding. They were early for all scheduled events and were a lot of fun. I would recommend them to anyone who knows how to have a great time!!!

Velvet Rut absolutely exceeded my expectations. Not only did their music rock and sound awesome, but they were extremely professional and very conscious of their audience. We will definitely hire them again.

We had a wonderful Company Christmas party thanks to Velvet Rut. They knew how to read the crowd and get us all out on the dance floor. They showed up on time, set up and really made the party easy for me to manage. They did exactly what I requested. I highly recommend them for a FUN party!

After seeing the setlist these guys have, I didnt think they would be as good as they were. Actually, I was a little scared until they played their first song. They kept everyone entertained and on there feet. Their musicianship was second to none. They werent too loud and they were true professionals in every way. Unbelievable is the only word I can come up with. If you want a party where everyone is dancing and having a good time, hire these guys! They were awesome!

An absolutely phenomenal evening. The wedding was at a country club in Denver, and we wanted to go with a rock band, as opposed to the typical "wedding band". There were 150 people in attendance. The wedding goers (of all ages) raved about their song selection and they were very professional, showed up well on time, and proceeded to play a 3 hour set of great 70's, 80's, and 90's rock, but with unique twist to it. We asked them to learn a few songs, which they did, and they were performed brilliantly, The flow and groove had people dancing all night. The band is savvy enough to know the acoustics of the room, and played at a perfect volume. Great Band!
